30

Was looking for a Xbox 360 Hard Drive for my 8GB Xbox 360. DS currently have 320GB Hard Drive on special. They are selling it for 103.98 ($26 cheaper than normal price).

What's the difference between a Xbox360 HD and a normal HD?

One says Xbox 360 on it.

    • From a non tech savvy person. The xbox one comes with the case and connection to simply plug it in the hard drive bay.

I believe there's ways and means to take a regular hard drive and adapt it for xbox however probably requires a little know how to do so

It's super easy actually, all you need is a Western Digital laptop drive (others are unofficially supported), HDDHackr, and optionally a pretty case to put it in - you can just use cardboard/tape to hold it in place is you're a super-tightarse.. ;)

          K. I got an 8GB Xbox 360 with Kinect about 4 years ago when on special for $150 but only use it for exercise stuff, or the nephews/nieces to keep them out of my computer room. PC user thru & thru :)

Tempted to neg this deal, but I'll be nice.

I've seen these for as low as $69 at JB Hifi (last december), so I guess unless you really need one now, it might be better to wait and see if JB do that deal again?

I got it from eb some time back for 70 is and it came with a code for Lego star wars and some arcade games

Wonder if you can bring the price down with any of the codes submitted lately

  • This the same hard drive?

Never bought from this place before so cant give any info on them

Picture says 250GB, site says 320GB.. Alarm bells already!

      • It is probably a 320GB WD drive hacked to work on 360 put into a 250GB case, nothing to be overly fussed about.

        • Except for the fact that you could get a legit one for the same price as mentioned.. So why buy a half-dodgy one? :P

  • The DSE one is for newer slim consoles. Also includes a copy of Lego Starwars III Game (downloadable).

Be mindful if you're buying it for the lego game too.

Bought mine a month ago from DSE and it came with Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Ms. Splosion Man, and Pinball FX 2. So it looks like DSE has a later batch of hard drives.

"The Xbox 360 S-compatible 320GB hard drive is getting a new batch of games, forcing out the formerly bundled-in Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

As of sometime next month, the additional storage space includes downloadable copies of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Ms. Splosion Man, and Pinball FX 2 with the Sorcerer's Lair DLC."

  • Not even remotely a deal unless you're allergic to eBay

    • Or want warranty support.

      • if you need help with that maybe you should be buying a console with a hdd inside already

  • +1

Beware of the ebay WD drives… mine became noisy and when I tried a RMA it turned out to be a fake drive… obviously they are close enough to the real WD Scorpio / blue drives to work with rhe xbox, but have no warranty. ..

  • I just plugin an external USB HDD, it formats it into xbox360 compliant format and away I go… did that last night with a usb 16gb flashdrive to put SSFIV on there - free for live gold.

  • Hold on, didn't Microsoft update the Xbox OS recently to allow external hard drives? If so then what would be the benefit of this versus an external portable 1TB HDD for $80?

    • Only for Xbox One, not 360, sadly.

  • Bought from Kmart last year, $59 for clearance
