    last day $559.20 for Samsung 28" LU28D590DS 4K delivered

  • I remember paying that price for a 19in flat screen CRT.. LOL

    • 3 times that price for a 17" Philips Monitor (1995)

  • Want to speedup my all-in-one pc, will the scandisk work with usb3 external enclosure?

    • I believe it will work, however I have no experience with that model. Why would this speed up your computer? May only speed up file transfer, and even then not a lot I would guess. Max write on these is 155MB/s, a good 2.5" will do 70MB/s I think, so not a huge difference in file transfer speed.

      • boot drives are all about access time, sequential write speeds mean very little

        • by his own admission this is to be an external drive and therefore not a boot drive. As a usb drive, it should only be used to store files, and therefore the sequential write speed will be critical to notice any speed difference (loading games etc).

The best way to increase speed is having at least 4gb of ram for windows and a reasonable ssd as a boot drive.

    • casmxl - yes - i use a 256GB version with my MBA and desktop PC as a steam drive

it won't help with booting (unless you replace the current boot drive with the SSD), but would be good for loading app/games/etc faster

      • thx!
Actually i want to use it with ExpressCache and usb3 enclosure to make it like Readycache, will it work?

ExpressCache software, when combined with a small SanDisk SSD, will provide significant boot up and application performance increases. With ExpressCache, Ultrabooks and other PCs will demonstrate greater responsiveness and higher performance. Start-up times drop, applications respond more quickly, and the end user has a far better computing experience at an affordable cost.

        • Where are you gonna get the software? I was under the impression ExpressCache was OEM only.

  • i think the kingston may be better for $8 more, has 450/450

    • That's their compressible data transfer rates. (Writing 0's)

      Incompressible Data Transfer:
      60GB — 150MB/s Read and 50MB/s Write

    • don't buy the v300 unless you can be sure you can get one with synchronous nand (firmware 505).

      google: v300 bait and switch

All the original reviews for this drive were with the original good nand. They have now stopped using good memory and use asynchronous now which is much slower.
