  • From another thread i wrote:

We've got a lower spec version (Karcher-K2-180) ~$120 one and i reckon i've got more than my money's worth out of it. This one is electric, so you need to plug it into power – the more powerful ones are standalone units and run on petrol.

To maximize the life of the device, make sure it's primed with water before you turn the device on. So i hook up to the tap, turn it on, squeeze the hose and allow the water to enter the device and leave the nozzel BEFORE i turn on the power. I've been told it's bad to leave the device pressurized for long periods, so when the power is off, i'll squeeze the trigger removing the pressure. Then i'll dismantle and drain the hoses.

My friend has a $500+ one which has all the bells and whistles. It is crazy powerful, so be careful. It can even remove concrete. Where our weak one will clean the concrete, but nowhere near the speed the powerful once can do it. I can spray it directly onto the car too.

tbh i looked at the upper models that had the same PSI but had all the extra tools, but couldn't justify the amount. This once cleans the tiles well anyway. Just start off at a distance so you dont remove grout.

  • Thanks for your help so far guys, I'm looking at buying this one tomorrow from Masters:
