    • Not really… its only overpriced if Jeenee stay in business for a few years without taking this plan away.

    • Where is this $30 Optus plan with 5GB data?

      • Former Woolworths plan. Closed to new signups since the end of last year.

      • 3G too

  • Spoke to Jeenee about the plans and pricing.
If you buy a lower priced plan ($15/$25) you can go up to $35 as well as back down to your original plan $15/$25.
But you cannot go lower than the price you were paying before - i.e. Choose $25 plan, you can go up to $35 plan but cant' go down to $15 plan. Only bsck to $25.

Same goes for $35 plan, you can't drop your monthly spend if you started on $35. Hope that makes sense.

Also, I was told $35 plan is available until end of August and as long as you stay with Jeenee, you will always only pay $35 p/m.

    • Are you really sure of that last point? Personally, if I were considering this plan, I'd want that in writing.

Maybe a Jeenee rep will kindly pop in and confirm?

It is in the fine print
Things you should know: The $35 SIM Pack promotional offer is available until 31 August 2014. The promotional offer applies for the life of the plan upon connection. SIM Packs are a 1 month contract term. An upfront $20 set-up fee applies, which includes delivery. A standard national call to any Australian mobile for 2 minutes including flagfall costs $2.15. A standard national text costs $0.25 per message. Data is counted in kilobytes and includes both uploads and downloads. After you've used your monthly included Data Allowance, each megabyte of excess data within Australia costs $0.25/MB.

*Things you need to know: 1 free Smart Pack service is donated to a person living with a disability through Make A Difference when: 5 x $35 SIM Packs are purchased, or 15 x $25 SIM Packs are purchased or 25 x $15 SIM Packs are purchased in each calendar month. The organisation chosen as the monthly Make A Difference Champion nominates the clients who will receive the donated mobile phone and service. There's no limit to the number of services donated - the more SIM Pack connections, the more free services we can donate through Make A Difference.

        • Factoring in everything, it's not a bad plan - not in the wretched marketplace as it currently is, data allowance-wise - for $35/month, but as with all plans with a restricted dollar amount applied to the call component, you really need to do your sums relating to your true call pattern. Lots of people fail to do that and get caught out when the bill arrives.

Charity component is nice, and certainly novel. Hard not to wish Jeenee well in relation to that.

  • Personally I'm willing to find out, when porting out, will they charge the ridiculous fee like the disgraced TPG does. The true colours of a business can only be fully revealed when the relationship ends

  • These plans look really good, however they don't offer Global Roaming.

I usually get a local sim card when I travel, but still need my Australian number to be reachable when travelling.

No Global Roaming is a bit of a deal breaker, otherwise I would be on this plan in a flash.

    • Can you number forward like LC? You may be able to forward it to a skype in number when you travel.

apparantly $650 equates to just 4 calls of 3min each a day.. which isn't much at all. unless i've misunderstood something?

      You haven't misunderstood anything.

On these types of plans, the 'included calls' value always appears more impressive than it is in practical reality.

With this plan, if you manage to signup lots of friends and family to Jeenee, the free J to J calling would improve the situation. A bit of an ask to arrange…

    • Wait what?
      3 x 3min calls = $500 value

but in the info summary the first minute is 90c + 35c flagfall?
      what am i missing?

These rates beat vodafones 35 sim only plan in every way apart from no international calling.

      • *4x3min calls per day of the contract month

        Fixed

      • (4 calls x (3 minutes x 90c) + 35c) x 30 days = $366 purely on calls, no texts. This is to demonstrate how seemingly an inconsequential number of minutes is actually pretty expensive.

Very tempted with this plan, I use Skype on my unlimited ADSL for international calling and local SIM when traveling so that's no biggie. I've been looking plans under $50 with good data and network coverage so I can watch my online course tutorials while commuting on PT.

  • my 2 cents - Aldi mobile is the DEAL!!! which comes with Telstra coverage.

    • Good for you, but not everyone who is, or was, on Aldi, was thrilled by the data allowance slashing (5GB to 1GB on the $35 plan), and the other restrictions now enforced.

Better deals - on the Telstra network, at almost every plan level that I can think of - elsewhere.

  • Thanks OP.

For the rest who wondered on charity side of things on Jeenee http://www.ccoz.org.au/web/cca-v2.0/jeeneemobile
Worthy cause and got my 2 phone supports :)
