Mario Kart 8 for Wii U - $57 @ Target

390

I was browsing around for the best price on this, since I was going to pick up from BigW but now they don't have any copies available online or in store for the $58 price. This is the next best price, seems to have only updated today.

Ended up picking up my Wii U and had Kmart price match Target's price, so no I don't have any idea of instore stock.

  • Welcome code?

    • Negative, did a 'test' order online before I went down and wouldn't let me use it.

I tried adding a $3 item and Welcome code works. but it's only a $3 savings.

OMG I knew I shouldn't have bought it for $58 at launch!! Fuming!!

      :P

  • Not sure about BigW having it for $54, last I saw it was still $58. Target seem to of just beaten the price of BigW by $1, much like they beat Kmart's price on the Wii U console bundle.

    • It was $58 at my Big W and they couldn't price match Target because they had no stock left. The clerk told me that she pricematched and sold the last one about 10 minutes before I came in. She was dressed in a pretty decent Luigi costume which was hilarious.

    • You're right, I thought it was $54 for some reason. Edited my original post.

  • I just purchased this at Target but I think the code was missing from the pack for the free game.

When I asked the clerk to check there was nothing in there so he went to have a look under the counter and found a little red booklet (pretty much the same one that came with Nintendo Land "join the club - club nintendo") and said that was it. I said ok and bought it but I really should have found out 100% if that was it before buying.

Can anyone put my doubts to rest? Is that little booklet the bonus code?

      It is.

Provided it's for the right game!

It's not the bonus code, it's the Club Nintendo registration code for that particular game (I'd make sure it actually belongs to the game as well).

Once you register the code with your Nintendo ID, you'll then receive a notification about the bonus game.

      • Thanks.

How do I check that the registration code is for Mario Kart and not another game?

        • It will tell you when you are doing the survey what game it is for.

  • Lol nice, $1 off Big W price.

I bought from Kmart today. Price matched Big W @ $58

  • Got one from Target today for $57. Thanks!

On back order, 2 week wait at Doncaster. Big W have some left for $1 more.

    • $1 more?! You are a monster, jv.

  • JB Watergardens had the console for the same price without price matching but would only knock the cost of MarioKart 8 to $65 because no one had stock

  • I got the skylanders bundle today from target but they had MK8 for $69 and 0 stock. BigW seem to be all out also…

  • Bought this at Target Joondalup (WA) earlier this evening, the BigW were out of stock and had it at $58, and then my phone buzzed with an Amex notification for a $10 credit :)

But I didn't know about the Club Nintendo voucher…will have to check!

  • Thanks - I have purchased this now :)

  • Thanks OP. Picked up one this morning online (Click & Collect).

  • Price matched (Target), at Kmart, The Pines Elanora for $57, yesterday.

  • Got EB to price match it for me. Then had to go back and get another copy as the nintendo club code was already registered >_>

  • is this 1080p?

    • it's 720p. it doesn't really matter, it looks fantastic

Bought one yesterday after grabbed a console bundle from Kmart. Unfortunately, the PIN was already registered by someone and had to return it to Target.
    So be cautious guys.

    • I also experienced similar. Target had left the PIN cards inside the cases, sitting on the shelves, which had quickly been stolen. Might pay to check your case before you head home.

Super Mario 3D World is also down from the usual $68 to $57, got EB to price match it.

    • How'd you get them to price match it when it says it's sold out online?

      • Don't show it to them, just say that target has it for $57 and they'll price match it for you

        • My own local store price matches imaginary prices, so Zelda707 is correct.

EXAMPLE: New Bravely Default for $49 from EB (valued at $59), 'pricematched' Big W's $58.

"Hey do you pricematch Big W?"
"Yeah, it's 49 dollars there yeah?"
          "YES, IT IS."

      • just tell them that means online, not sold out in store

      • I just said that Target was selling it for $57, he called Target and they had it in stock at the store so he sold it to me for $57.

  • JB will price match as well.

  • Thanks for posting OP!! Local Target was out of stock but I price matched at K Mart today.
