Is this some kind of jambox clone? How good is this compared to jambox? Any video review anywhere ?

It's kind of hard to tell isn't between a local company with real stock in hand , or local company with stock overseas and stuff arriving to customers 3-4 weeks later? Also, how do we tell / compared if this is a good bargain for oz-hard-bargainer like us ? Any comments from store rep? Any real video review or ozbargainer real experience yet ?

      What?

It's simply a generic jamblox clone from China. This "objectiv" company simply sourced them cheap from china and sell them at a mark up of at least 300% and most likely 600% since they are buying direct from factory.

So no. This is not a deal. Not when you yourself sell something at $80 which can be purchased for <$20.

This is also not a perishable good. I fail to see why you would need this speakers in a few days from order. You can also opt for express shipping for an extra $20 from eBay making it $40 which means you still save $20 and get it fast too.

  • Good afternoon everyone, I hear all your concerns, and they're all valid. Let me address each one.

We are based in Melbourne, and so are our products. We ship out of Melbourne using Fastway couriers, which is a domestic courier. You will get a tracking code once it ships to verify all this. For places that Fastway doesn't deliver to, we use Aussie Post.

I have not tried the product on eBay linked to above, so I can't speak to the sound quality. If you are looking for reviews on our product, search for "Cyren" or "Soundblock" on Amazon - we get our products from the same source. As for the review on Whirlpool, I was made aware of it when following up a shipment with another customer. Not sure if it's fair on us to simply suggest a review is "dubious", but I will leave it to others to make up their own mind.

You are right, we do source from China. Although, I can also assure you (unfortunately) that our cost is not as low as you may be led to think :) The reality today however, is the majority of electronic companies now get their products made by white label manufacturers in China, and what they pay to the manufacturers is a fraction of what you pay. They then slap on their margin when selling to the retailer. The retailers then mark up by around 100%, because they have their overheads to cover. When you buy from us, we don't have overheads like a retailer does. Therefore, for similarly priced products on the market, I am confident that our speakers will almost always sound better.

The rationale for choosing us over an overseas seller would be that if you have any issues, you are covered under Australian Consumer Law. If you buy from an overseas seller, Australian consumer laws are non-existant. For the times where an overseas seller agrees to honour their warranty, you have to pay postage back to Hong Kong or China, which, depending on the price of the product, means you are better off just buying another one.

Happy to answer any more queries you may have. We're not a fly-by-night company, but I definitely understand your reservations when dealing with a new company.
