Western Digital WDBGXT0000NBK-AE Streaming TV Live Media Player $108 Delivered COTD

10

I know these usually go for $99 when on special, but at $108 delivered from COTD is still a good deal, considering a lot of people are waiting to spend their COTD credit earned from the 50% EOFY deal before the credit expires in August.

Sir jv, as I mentioned this might be useful for some who are looking at spending their COTD credit.

So it't not really a bargain then unless you have the credit… You could submit anything on COTD and say its a bargain after credit is applied?

It was $90.40 the last two days via good guys ebay store and the 20% off deal.

    • Bugger!

    • Or less via pickup, got my third one

Yep, I bought this on Sunday with the 20% off deal and delivered today from TGG for $90.40. Hoping I used Cash Rewards correctly to bring it down to $88.60 ?

  • I sold my WDTV Live streaming and bought a Roku 3. If you are only using it for US content the Roku is a much better device.

    • The Roku is horrible for playing back local files though. I just got one and I will now be selling and as my WD does a far better job.
Even the FF & Rewind bar is annoying with a lack of seconds, and blanking the screen. I was also amazed that the sound output levels are lower, and this is going via HDMI into my receiver to decode everything.

But yes, the Roku is far better for streaming services such as Netflix or even YouTube than the WD, but there are too many other shortcomings for my liking.

      • When you say local do you mean by USB plugged in?

I run Plex for stuff on my LAN and don't have any problems.

        • I mean local as your home, be it direct USB or via cable or wireless network.
I have mine from my NAS via Plex and it is nowhere near as good as my WD TV for playback.
It's quicker and better for YouTube and Netflix, but falls behind in many other areas.

        • it is nowhere near as good as my WD TV for playback.

the WD TV is OK, but still quite slow compared to my 5yo Popcorn Hour…

        • Yeah, they're aren't quick. Popcorn hours are aren nearly $200 more though, so it better be quicker.

  • Just get a roku 3
