  • Will we ever see a Star Trek 4?

    • +1

I hope not. These trash movies almost killed the franchise.

I hope we see a new Star Trek movie the wipes out the existence of this shit and continues on from the shows and old movies.

      • I really enjoyed them but I'm not a Star Trek fan at all so maybe that helped

        The Voyage Home

Fun fact, at the conclusion of this movie the crew do indeed make it back to Earth. Upon returning, the ships Engineer @scotty starts a bargain website.

last one is Justin Lin aka Fast n Furious guy

  • When apple lose their license for Star Trek, does everyone lose their purchased movies?

    • -2

      Yes

    • I don't see why. Purchases would be treated differently from streaming rights. When you buy it outright (license really) the distributor would get a cut of sale, they have been paid. They might stop apple selling further copies if they lose distribution rights and new copies can't be sold. However if you already have it then thr movie should remain in your library to watch. If you are worried download a local copy.

Theoretically it could get messy but it's not really in apple or the movie distributors best interests to screw you over. They both want you to spend money through them.

I think you will be shocked when you read the ts and cs!

        Wrong.

You aren’t buying anything. It is just a long term rental that can disappear at any point. People are ignorantly pissing money away.

If you happen to have the movie cached locally you can keep watching it, except:
        1) You can only do this with 1080p.
        2) The storage on AppleTVs is tinny so you’ll only be able to store a couple of movies.
        3) If that device stops working and the movie has since been delisted you can’t redownload it.

The ACCC really needs to ban the use of the words “buy” and “own”.

I've plundered many over the decades and hidden them away locally on 12TB+ hard drives like pirate booty… 🏴‍☠️

          1. Like my vhs, dvds and blurays collection. Did goes out of date.

          2. Try other devices than the apple tv. Windows, Mac, ipad, etc

          3. Download to more than 1 spot?

Not at all the same thing. It would be like owning a DVD except someone can come in your house and take it back at any point.

Try other devices than the apple tv. Windows, Mac, ipad, etc

            For what purpose?

Download to more than 1 spot?

Or just not waste your money in the first place
