I recently bought an Intel 4690k off Amazon for US $239.99 + US $$7.98 =US $247.97 which equates to approximately AU $269.00. Much cheaper than local vendors.
As of the moment the 4690k is US $238.99 + US $7.35.

  • is it a cpu or what? what does the part of "devil's canyon” do with it?

    • It is Intel's unlocked Haswell Refresh CPU's. Devil's Canyon is what Intel was calling them.

    • CPU. And code name.

Umart sell the 4690k for $275. Probably better to buy local and pay the $6 difference.

The 4790k on the other hand is a great bargain and well worth buying from USA compared to current prices here. If I needed an upgrade I'd probably grab one!

    • they've dropped their price. It used to be $295.00 I would also go with umart at that price.

      • Yep, what they said.

        $238.99 + $7.35 (shipping) = $246.34 USD ~ $263.51 AUD (cheapest avail. listed on staticice.com.au is $274 AUD)

        $329.99 + $7.35 (shipping) = $337.34 USD ~ $360.89 AUD (cheapest avail. listed on staticice.com.au is $405 AUD)

It's his first post, give him a fair go.

Also, while the 4690k might be not worth the overseas purchase, the 4790k mentioned at Amazon is a significant saving on current Aussie vendor prices.

  • Got mine a week ago from PCCG on the day of release for $289, not a big saving but oh well could use the savings for a fan or something if you don't mind waiting for it to arrive from the US.

  • Wowzers! I've been really keen to get the 4790k. Most decent sellers here are charging $415 or more for it. So this is almost a saving of $100. Which could be used to buy an after market cooler or even a closed liquid cooling loop like the H100
