+1 because they honored the Wii U Controller deal, arrived in the mail a few days ago!

Yep, Bookworld are awesome. I ordered a Black Wii U Pro Controller for $35 delivered, can't beat that.

I should have bought two, actually. :(

  • I got a $19.95 Quick Flix voucher with my order too. I got 2 actually. Not sure how useful they are.

  • Thankyou! Bought 2 books. :)

They were great for uni textbooks last time they did the 30% off, thanks op!

    • You're welcome. :) The discount certainly adds up if you are buying textbooks for uni/TAFE, makes a big difference!

  • how long does shipping usually take?

If the book is instock at bookworld and it mentions 'Fast Free Delivery' (usually above the Buy it Now button) then typically it would arrive between 1-3 working days. For example:

      http://www.bookworld.com.au/search/drops+of+god#media_type=B…

However, if it doesn't mention 'Fast Free Delivery' then it will need to be imported (usually from the UK) which will take around 15 Days.

Most books still cheaper in book depository

    • Yes I agree, for example I was looking for the latest Lonely Planet Thailand, only $22.30 at Book Depository, compared to $35.99 at Bookworld.

      • Most kids books I saw were cheaper at Bookworld when I was doing Booko searches.

  • Cheers OP! Love getting the Popular Penguins at $5-6, such a sweet deal.

  • Yeah Depository seems cheaper still for some stuff I want.

Bookworld site seems dead right now for me.

  • Darnit just bought books and got 20% off… another $3 off would have been good ;p

  • I ordered a book from the last 20% off deal, wishing a local supplier would have faster shipping time compared to those in UK. The order got cancelled the day after and they said I'll receive an email about refund. Now 11 days later, not a word from Bookworld. Their website does not have a phone number nor an email address, click on the Contact Us page and it takes you to the FAQ page with no link about cancelled orders! The website is very good when you want to order, but so bad when you want to contact a human!

Anyway, I ordered the same book from Wordery which is cheaper anyway but have to wait, but more importantly it's already dispatched… Needless to say I won't be touching Bookworld again!!

    Nice - Uni Semester 2 textbook @ 50% off co-op price!

It's common knowledge that uni text books are a rip off. The universities are in on it. They change editions every year so you can't buy 2nd hand or resell, and it's hard to find them anywhere else.

My advice would be to go to the uni library and photocopy the entire book, reduce it to fit two pages on one A4. Much cheaper. If you want to save weight and volume, do it double sided.

Wow that's an awesome idea!. You truly are an oz-bargainer.

My first few years of Uni, I purchased small thin books for $150+. Which I didn't end up reading anyway and wished I never bought them.

Later on, I photocopied them for only a fraction of the cost of buying the book. They will always be in the reserve section and not for loan. I still didn't read the books, but at least I didn't waste $150+ per book.

I just wish I started doing this sooner.

  • Even with 30% off and free shipping I still couldn't find many deals cheaper than other online retailers.

I have nabbed the first two volumes of 'Y: The Last Man' (graphic novel) which worked out cheaper than a regular american site I use, so thanks OP

    http://www.bookworld.com.au/book/y-the-last-man-vol-1/499411…

  • The book I wanted kept changing prices on book depository due to currency fluctuations. After the 30% discount bookworld worked out to be cheaper for me.

  • I have an additional 10% discount code on top of citizen. Reckon it's unique. PM me :)

    • Is that on top of the existing 20% off code as well? So 20 + 10 + 10?

It's been 7 hours since you posted that, so someone's probably claimed it already. Rather than flood your inbox, could you PM me if it's still available? Thanks.

  • Good deal. Got Ross Oakley's new book for $21.69.

I bought two books but I got an email saying one of them is unavailable and will be refunded. The other book says it's "on order" when I access my record. But they both say that they are "in stock" under their individual pages.

  • I ordered two copies of a book (had to place two orders because the site said "due to copyright reasons, you cannot buy more than one copy per order" - WTF??) and used the coupon code on both orders.

I just got an email for each order saying that it had been cancelled because Bookworld was unable to source the book. The site still lists the book as in stock.

Is it possible Bookworld are not honouring my orders because the price after discount is not profitable for them? Definitely not happy!
