  • Do the Kayanos come in different widths? I have slightly wide feet and I'm wondering whether these are a narrow or wider fit.

    • they do , but not many of the aussie retailers have them in wide feet.

      i ordered runners from amazon
although most of these dont ship to australia, you can see all that asics from amazon that are available in 2e and 4e that ship to australia direct from amazon

  • Rebel and Amart are part of the same company - Super Retail Group. Don't know if SRG will price beat themselves?

    • Nope. Will match Amart, or any other rebel if that store is doing a deal, but don't have to beat them by 10%.

Just Sports Bankstown have Kayano 20 for $149.99 and Kayano 19 for $119.99. I actually saw it in the catalogue this morning but threw it away so the only link I could find to it is on their facebook page.

    • Both Rebel & Amart have stores in Bankstown also. The Amart opened quite recently. No wonder these guys are doing good deals!

Very good price on the older model Kayano 19s if they have any stock left.

  • Apparently I have pretty straight feet from athletes foot test and are more suited to the nimbus… are these runners really that great to pay $150 for them?

    • FWIW Sportsmart had nimbus 189 reduced in horrible fluro yellow… amart shows 150 something in good plain white colour…

Other shoes recommended to me were glycerin or 1080, no idea what brand they are now. Thoughts?

        Glycerin is brooks.
        1080 is New balance.

        Disclaimer: I work at RebelSport.

      Are they worth it? Yes.

I bought a pair of Nimbus 12 in 2011 (I think) and have run a marathon in them, hundred of kms of other running and lots of gym/walking and they are still in good shape. Will buy another pair in the next six months or so.

  • I am wondering if asics are starting to reduce the prices in Australia. I have seen this price at a few places on the gold coast. Last place was a small orthopedic shoe store in Aust Fair.

    • Asics aren't dropping their prices. But unauthorised stock seems to be coming in from other sources now. COTD seem to have bargains on sports brands every other day now for example:

      http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/search?query=asics

Same thing happens on eBay. Is this just old or excess stock getting dumped in our market? Is it all genuine asics product? Who knows…

Personally, I will only spend $100+ online for asics if the source of the stock is reliable.

      • I just received a pair of asics 20's from COTD (lured back by the CBIGTREAT sale the other week).

FAKE… So fake I couldn't help but laugh. They looked like my old skate shoes from when i was 14, after the entire sole had separated from the rest of the shoe and I'd valiantly attempted to use super glue and shoe goo to put them back together. There is literally glue everywhere, in every joining crevice. The other tell tale signs of fake product were present, that is horrendously poor materials and packaging.

I will be returning them and god help COTD if they don't refund me.

        • Sounds bad

I also bought mine from COTD eBay store and they are perfect..

        • @zuccs: I wish mine were too, it was a great price.

      • Maybe but when we mentioned it to a footlocker store (Robina) they said they would drop to $179 ($10 more than the store in Australia Fair)
Both stores have had Asics for ever so I don't think it's grey imports and I know not fakes.

  • Yeah i only get expensive brand name stuff from reputable shop fronts… sucks hope they take it back!
