Amazon deal of the day. Great price for a good looking no-frills watch. Be warned though, the movement is quite loud!

    Absolutly love this watch!

Got it from the last time it was on OzBargain and the most handy feature of it was the Indiglo face (where the face lights up by pressing on the crown).

Enjoying it with no problems. I'd recommend this if you're in for a no-frills and simple watch.

      is it too loud?

remember the regular price is $39.95/$44.95, plus a reviewer complained his watch falling apart, so it should be better quality considering you can buy a cheap Chinese watch for much less like $3 on ebay which also ticks away 'loudly' and yes i realise it has the Indiglo feature, or am i expecting too much?

You wouldn't want it close to you if you're trying to sleep. Mine is in the wardrobe which is fine.

      • It's pretty loud… But the build quality is bullet proof. The reports of the watch falling apart surprise me- you would have to really abuse the thing in my opinion. There are many fans of this watch throughout the internet for good reason. For just over $30 I think it's a no brainer.

      • Worn mine every day since I got it about 2 years ago and the tick, while quite loud, is unnoticeable in day to day use. I only really hear it at night when it's on my bed side table.

        • So I'm guessing it ticks you off? :P

      • To me, no. The watch is about 50 cm away from my head (when I sleep) and I don't notice it at all. In a quiet room (Cinema for example), the ticking cannot be heard at all.

Thanks Tycn - great deal and tip about the tick!
    Also Silverrat for your recommendation.

    I ordered a black one.

    Cheers

  • Got 4 of them, about $26AUD each. Thanks!

Of course I bought one last week for $38…

Also, plenty of different coloured straps to compliment your outfit/mood on eBay for about $2.50 each!

    • Got a link?

I think I have one of these (make sure you get the 20mm). I much prefer it to the original strap - loops are less finnicky and it's easier to tuck away the end.

        • Cheers. Unfortunately out of stock on the colours I wanted :-(

        • How would this compare to a genuine Timex watch band? Would the threads from the HK one deteriorate quicker?

        • @silverrat23:

Even these super cheap NATO straps seem pretty durable - the edges are nicely finished and the stitching is sturdy. My $3 strap is still in great condition after 6 months of wear and I'm sure it'll last a few years.

The original is thicker but you're not going to wear through a nylon strap regardless and it's not as secure/comfortable as a NATO.

    • these look great on a dark leather nato. I got one for about 10 bucks on ebay and it has held up very well.

  • THE best cheapish watch has to be the CASIO F-91W

30 metres water resistance, these watches are not for me.

38mm only so tiny. would have preferred 42+ I'm still tempted though
I think this is the nicest one

Ended up buying it and combining with my Destiny Ghost edition order from Amazon. Only cost me $3.47 extra shipping for the watch

    • This is the problem, unless you are a feminine sized man then 38mm is going to look stupid on your wrist. I had one and gave it away for this reason

  • the best watch you can get at this price. Got mine last year for $28 on Amazon and it arrived within 3 days by DHL Express. Love it, and people always ask me what it is.

  • Good deal, but looks a bit chintzy from the pics I looked at. Reckon I'd rather spend an extra ~$30 for a Seiko 5 if I was after a good, cheap watch.

That would explain why there are sites with thousands of users dedicated to watches.

      Or not.

  • God, it's loud. Be mindful. I got it last time as well.

    Thanks.

Just ordered the one with blue and gray strap.

    • same - was tossing up between that and the canvas

  • Cheaper to buy a new watch than get the battery replaced. Still rather a Seiko 5.

  • Seems like a decent beach watch with the water resistance.

Don't like wearing my better watches and hate having to dig out my phone and risk the dreaded sand + electronics combo when I want to know what time it is.

    All gone. :(

  • I bought two of these last time they were on ozb. I loved them until one of them suddenly started having vapor on the top screen and stoped working. Looking at its website tells that doesn't support international warranty even disappointed me. It was a great watched, I really loved it. The other one v is still going strong.

    • Try contacting Amazon, their customer service is frequently amazing (e.g. when I received a 20% off code they were willing to apply it retroactively to an order I made months ago and refunded me 20%).

  • Mine arrived today. Very happy with it. Cost came out to AUS$31.97.
    (Ordered 17/7/2014 arrived 30/7/2014)
