Great price for New Vegas Ultimate Edition. I've been playing it for the first time and I can't recommend it enough - over 100 hours in and still LOADS of content to go. It's extremely entertaining, especially the DLCs. At this price, you'd be nuts to get the standard version.

I just bought New Vegas Ultimate on GMG and then went to activate it and it turns out I already own it :( Doh!

      • hahah ive done that before. It doesnt say u have ultimate…

    • Have you played the first fallout 3? That was the first game i played since i upgraded my computer and it was awesome!!(2 years ago i was still using a pentium 3, playing warcraft 3 on its most basic mode).

I'm always waiting for news on fallout 4 :(

  • When does this expire?

    • +2

probably after this weekend since it's part of the Quakecon weekend sale.

      • Thanks :)

  • For someone who has never played fallout: fallout 3 or NV?

    • +5

Both!!!, but if you can only afford one, get fallout 3, way more stuff

I'd probably start with Fallout 3. New Vegas has the same overall game mechanics and a largely unrelated plot, but it is a bit more complex, so works well if you've played Fallout 3 first. It doesn't really matter, but that worked for me.

Also, the first time you leave the Vault in Fallout 3 has to be one of the best and most atmospheric moments in any game I've ever played. The atmosphere in the whole game is incredible.

Having said that, the price for New Vegas in this sale is a lot better, so if money's an issue, go with that. Can't go wrong with either.

Either way… prepare to loose 70-100hrs of your life if you complete every quest in this game.

      • some quests affects other quest givers permanently, so yeah. technically if you want to complete every quest, be prepared to replay this game a lot. On the other hand, not many games are this good at re-playability. :)

i'm holding out for wasteland 2. when it comes out (officially), probably I will take a week's holiday just to play that.

    • 3 If you had to choose

    • I prefer New Vegas over Fallout 3, but Fallout 3 is still good. I really can't play them without a few essential mods though. Bug fixes for me is always a must.

      new vegas is much better

    • Both but play fallout 3 first. IMO i enjoyed it more than fallout new vegas because the storyline was much more mysterious, although new vegas had equally compelling side-quests!

  • Why is Fallout 3 GOTY so expensive relative to the rest…

  • sweet! bought both fallout 3 and new vegas :D

  • I would say nv over 3 - both amazing games but for me 3 made me work harder to get quests etc, new Vegas has a lot to do wherever you go.

Ultimately at these prices you should get both if you don't have them, brilliant, brilliant games.

  • Keeps on saying "unable to add vouchers"

How are you guys getting the discount?

There are some nice gun mods available for Fallout 3 and NV< but some of them got removed from NexusFiles (they are copywrite Nazis). There is the NeilMc texture pack for both games and Ojo Bueno/Poco Bueno for NV.

ENB ( a replacement directX dll) is good to use, most especially to prevent 32 bit RAM related crashes because it prevents VRAM from being mirrored in System Ram. This is necessary for people using abundant high resolution 2K textures.

  • I want Fallout so bad
    :(

  • Thanks bought Fallout 3: GOTY & Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition for cheap :)

I loved Fallout 3 on PS3 so I'm keen to play on PC :)

  • Thanks OP…just joined using your referral link and purchased both games as paulied84 above, however the code did not stack the games and it was only applied to Fallout3:GOTY, hence I paid UD$16.31 (A$18.03 via Paypal) Did I do something wrong? Anyways still got a great deal but just asking.

    • Some (most) GMG codes only allow you to use them with single items, but can be used multiple times. You need to add it to each game and put them through a game a time.

Fallout3 GOTY is available for $7.29 USD directly from steam store itself.
