1-Day: 3pk Cast Iron Fry-Pan Set $16.99 + $8.99 Shipping

160

This frypan set was quite popular several months ago. It's now $26 delivered which isn't as good a deal, but might be useful for those who missed out last time.

One user wasn't too happy with the quality last time. Perhaps others can comment.

Paid $21.98 with delivery last time.
I don't have issue with the quality.

It's my first cast iron pan and I plan on keeping it for life if possible.

    Requires seasoning.

  • it's a bargain if you take care of it as long as possible and get good use out of it
    +1 from me

  • Got one for about $25 delievred.

Seems to good to be true, but hopefully we get lucky :)

They aren't going to be "top quality", but they aren't top price, either.

    • They have a textured coating on them already. That means you don't need to season them, but makes it harder if you do want to season them, as traditional seasoning sticks better to smooth cast iron. You could always sand them down.

    • They're thinner than traditional cast iron cookware. That makes them more likely to break (at the handle, probably) than the traditional kit, but you're only out a fraction of $26 if you do break one. If you do lose the handle, you could try one of those pot grippers campers use.

    • They're thinner than traditional cast iron cookware, which means they're less able to smooth out uneven heat sources, like camp fires. If you're not cooking over a wood fire, that shouldn't be a problem.

If you're just using them to sear steaks, or even oven-finish them Alton Brown style, I think they'd be fine.

aha, i was the "one user wasn't too happy with the quality last time", and someone negged me for my comment, all of which you have confirmed! ha :)

      • I can't vote positive on your old comment to balance things out, here's a positive now :P

        • aha cheers. :)

i'm not really worried about negs, i just thought it was funny (and possibly from someone from 1day even!).

        • @caprimulgus:
1day services is pretty good, i bought monitor from them before, and the box is totally damaged, they apologize and refund my money and let me kept the monitor…

        • @andyken:

yeah, same here: they gave me a refund and let me keep the two that weren't broken, so i was happy with that!

would buy from them again, but just wary of the product quality (you get what you pay for).

  • These are very bad quality. I purchased a set last time and 2 out of three arrived broken. I have sent them an email but have been ignored.
