    • and Windows XP..

  • The description states that this is the AOA110 / Linux version,, but the Specifications state that the Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP!
    Also contradicting memory spec's:
    Installed Memory : 1000
    Installed Memory : 512 MB

The above and other anomalies make it look as though Wow have copied & pasted the spec's from multiple sources.

I've contacted them to confirm the OS. It is the linux version. They're going to correct the website shortly.

Anyone know if these come with a custom version of linux? I liked how the Eee comes straight out of the box and could be used by anyone.

    • I'm using one of these as I type.
      They use Linpus Linux Lite.

  • I can confirm that this is a great little machine for the price IMHO.
This is about the same money (after the then-current rebate) that I paid last December through CotD, and I haven't seen it this cheap since.
FYI, the AOA110 no longer attracts an Acer Cash Back.

A good price +ve. Only comment I'll make is if ppl are just looking at it from a price perspective, they can get a proper and significantly better performing notebook with optical drive for $210 more: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1242770#r…

  • Anyone want to sell the SSD for a HDD? I'm actually after a small SSD as opposed to a HDD.

The kidding bit wasn't there when I first read this.

  • Any idea what these retail for in USA

  • I have one of these and the SSD is real shitty, linux runs OK but if you try and run Windows XP it runs very sluggishly.
I would recommend running Ubuntu Netbook Remix or Jolicloud if you are in their private alpha over the Linpus Lite which comes pre-installed on it.
I bought mine brand new from ebay delivered from USA for $298.

  • anyone confirm.. is there any webcam?

  • any information on battery?
