      This will answer your question.

      http://www.ehow.com/facts_5931308_water-resistant-vs_-waterp…

Basically a water resistant watch (such as this one being sold in the topic) can survive a shower or rain but a water proof watch can survive full submersion in water. So don't go wearing this cheap watch while swimming. It's not a divers watch.

  • Yes it's water resistant, not water proof.

  • how deep can this watch dive, Rep? 100 metres?

    • I'd say basically 0 metres under water. It's not waterproof unlike what the topic claims. As if you'd expect a $4.28 wrist watch to be waterproof. If you want a watch capable of under water submersion buy a proper divers watch which is designed to be under water. Those sort of watches cost a few hundred dollars.

While what you said about water resistant and waterproof is true, waterproof watches don't have to cost hundreds of dollars, the cheaper g-shocks can be had for less than a hundred and as a rule, they're all rated for 10 bars of water pressure. Though you could spend several hundred on a waterproof watch (or several thousand on a watch that isn't even water resistant) you don't have to.

  • 90% off? Oh, yeah, that’s what I’m talking about!

100% off and I am all ears.

  • Rep. The topic is saying $3.99 shipped but in the cart is showing as $4.28?. Oh hangon that's $USD in the topic but cart goes by $AUD. A bit confusing.

    • OK, I changed the title~~ :)

Time to save my money !

  • I cannot understand — it is only $4, or A$4.x, why so many complaints about a typo/mistake and so many requests like it is a g-shock?

  • Cheap, but not accurate. You'll need to adjust the time every few days!

    • It's a digital watch. I can't see it losing time over just a few days like an analogue watch might unless the battery was going flat.

  • I'm happy. I'll now have a watch to wear next time my seiko goes in for a battery to be replaced.

  • Thanks Rep. got a couple. one for the in-law.

  • Not very happy. Watched arrived with dead battery.

    • Hello Zaddo

Thanks for purchasing our products. Unlike the quartz watch, the digital watch battery kept working since the day it was assembled. So sometimes the battery was dead when the watch was delivered to the customers. We're so sorry for the inconvenience. Hope for your kind understanding.
