    How to cancel your subscription

Can anyone confirm that this cancels the renewal, not the account? The wording is ambiguous.

      • +1

It clearly says "How can I cancel my SUBSCRIPTION?" on the linked page

  • Not a big fan of the service. I read most of my comics while off line on a tablet. The software used isn't as good as comixology's. If Marvel licences the reader from them I'd at least consider it.

  • Anyone able to register?

    • Haven't gotten to it yet wanted to (wake up) and get it posted here first.

  • Anybody know of any CBZ/CBR backup tools for offline reading?

The app only allows offline reading of 12 issues, not enough for the long trips I take.

Perfect viewer is what I use for reading those file types on android. For file managment on android I use es explorer.
Should also be some windows clients too not that I can think of them at the moment.
although I'd expect the marvel app to have some drm or proprietary file formats for protection or something.

      • +1 for Perfect Viewer. For PC I use Comical

    • Which is why I prefer comixology. I tend to buy when stuff is on sale.

      • Yeah I've heard Comixology is a better platform too, well before amazon bought it at least.
but I figured this deals probably good for those who have no intention of buying or actually staying subscribed but wanted to look at some of this stuff.
Shame it's not Dc comics though I'd love to look at some of the alter batman universes.

    • I use comic rack, and think it is awesome. Nice and fast and organises your collections as well. Can read until your hearts content offline

While Marvel groans under the load, can anyone recommend any comics in the library that are cool and not just the normal set of super-heroes?

    • Also would like to know! (not actually a big comic book reader here)
Something thats supposedly good that hasn't been made into a tv to movie is deadpool though.

      Runaways
      Superior Foes of Spiderman

    • Also
      Young Avengers (Vol 2)
      X-Statix
      Doop
      X-Factor Vol 3

    • The new hawkeye is pretty good. Even though he is an avenger the series follows him when he isnt an avenger and kinda just a regular guy (with the power of being good at bow and arrow?) Ive also been enjoying the new daredevil and have been meaning to get around to the vol 2 stuff by bendis and then brubaker. I rate punisher maxx by ennis pretty highly, and the matt fraction iron man run where he loses his intelligence is great. FF by fraction is also great for a laugh. I havnt been reading much marvel lately, mostly dc, so sorry i couldnt be of more help

  • Cancellation is interesting:

    Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your Service prior to auto-renewal, you must do so by notifying us (as set forth below) by 5 pm EST on the last day of your subscription term (unless the offer you have selected specifically does not permit cancellation within a specified time period) in order to allow us to process your cancellation request. If we receive your cancellation request after such time, you will automatically be charged for the next subscription term.

    1.Email customer service: [email protected]
2.Cancel your subscription through your "My Account" page by going to the following link: https://marvel.com/my_account/subscription/cancel.

Marvel will confirm receipt of your cancellation request via email or website confirmation page.

So does that mean that you have to do it on the last day and no other day?

And it looks like you cancel it through your account but also have to email them.

    • "by 5 pm EST on the last day of your subscription term "
I believe the "by 5pm" refers to a deadline and not the day it must be done. So any time before the last day at 5pm est should be good.

Also the cancellations 1 and 2 refer to two separate ways of canceling.

      "
How can I cancel my subscription?

If you do not wish for your subscription to renew at the end of your term, you can either:

Cancel your subscription through your "My Account" page by going to the following link: https://marvel.com/my_account/subscription/details
Send us an e-mail at [email protected] requesting a cancellation.

  • For anyone considering this, I've been using it for the last few weeks to read original Uncanny X-Men… It's a great service but it's not without its faults.

Firstly, the mobile app is complete garbage… Since this sale went live it's been non functional, I've been unable to read anything on my tablet or phone.

Secondly, they have a really cool smart panel feature that zooms in and guides your reading experience from panel to panel… It's fantastic for allowing me to read comics on my Nexus 5 but they don't allow you to switch quickly between smart panel mode and full page mode. This is frustrating because on the odd occasion with the smart panel mode, portions of text will be cut off and unreadable.

I definitely recommend this service, but don't judge the service based on the mobile app because the server side portion is taking a hammering from this sale.

    • Good to hear they've finally brought in the guided view.
