  • The actual price would be nice

Hmmmm a refurbished 2012 version….considering that there have been more than a few recent deals for new current gen Macbook airs for not much more than this list price, and previous gen 2013 versions for around the $850 mark…..I don't think this is a very good deal. Anyone looking to jump should consider waiting for the next Dick Smith % off offer or something similar instead.

I'm not going to do something ridiculous like compare it to the Ebay or double coupon DSE deals

But I don't think this is good value, the newer Haswell models have much much better battery life.

the 13 inch for $700 and 11 inch for $500 after the ebay/kogan deal really makes everything look bad at the moment.

Yea, and a similar comment will pop up on every single incoming MacBook Air deal for the years to come.

  • There will never be another $800 13" Macbook deal… Silly comparing it.

    • Actually it was only $682 ;)

        Exactly.

Not that great of a deal. 2013 model not that much more.

while i agree this is not the best deal, just how far back and how much digging/faffing around with previous deals are you supposed to compare this current deal with? i thought it is a 'bargain' if it's the cheapest/best value currently on the market

You've been part of ozbargain since 2010 and you still need someone to explain to you how ozbargain works?

My MacBook has similar specs and I paid maybe $40 more and got it new back in 2012

      • my point was, yes a price history site like camelcamelcamel is handy for some, but how far back do you compare prices, 3 months? 6 months, 2 years? price history is little comfort to someone who needs to buy today, also speaking of making comparisons, remember when Apple warranties went from the standard 12 months to 2 years? you need to factor that in the equation too
