This is a great game that I still play.
(Actually, I reckon best game ever, Command and conquer came close)
The developers are still keeping it alive with mission updates etc.

At this price, why would you not buy it?

      What do you mean "no deal"? $7.49 for both is the cheapest (non mistake) price I've seen for the two. This is a great price.
      The developers added a lot of content to The Forgotten - about 25 campaigns, etc. if you're going to buy AOEII, the DLC is a must.

        Im not buying because the steam RRP here is like the Call of Duty RRP on Steam, massively inflated. There has been a few times where the price is cheaper than this (not referring to the $2.5 price error here)

    HD is the inferior version of the game. It's still buggy, and the command lag is terrible. I don't know about single player, but if you're into playing online I'd suggest getting the original aoc, and play on voobly. There's community made patches fixing just about every bug in the game.

    On a related note, the final stage of the Nations Cup is on at the moment, if you want to see some high level games, they'll be streamed on VooblyOfficial on Twitch, and later posted on their youtube channel.

    Edit: I should mention that the Forgotten Empires mod (of Forgotten expansion in HD) is totally dead in non-HD, so get HD if you want to play that.
