  Just take extra care of the catcher and the cover otherwise for home use it is pretty good. I have original GMC from last 5 years or so, so far not a single issue. Still starts in first 1-2 pulls. S & Briggs engine is very durable.

  Yep I've had a GMC lawn mower (big 5HP) with B&S motor. Had it for possibly 7-8 years now and no issues. The catchers are definitely the weak points so be careful with those, but as long as you lube all the moving parts up and occassionally blow everything out with compressed air, and check the air filter, change the spark plugs, change the oil yearly with SAE30 or whatever is mandated, then you can likely expect few problems.
