6 FREE Classical Music Albums (MP3, FLAC, ALAC) @ Hyperion Records

980

I won't pretend to know anything about classical music, but for those in the know, here's a freebie for your enjoyment… 6 full albums and available as MP3 or lossless FLAC & ALAC audio codecs.

Simply follow these instructions and you'll have them on your PC in no time. I've downloaded an MP3 as a test, and it came up at 320kbps. Sounded superb.

  1. Select MP3, FLAC or ALAC from the top right of the screen.
  2. Click the purple 'Download all MP3' button, and your basket will be updated.
  3. Click 'View Basket'.
  4. Click 'Proceed to Checkout'.
  5. In the 'Register Here' box, put any email and password you like (no verification required).
  6. In the 'Billing Address' fields, put any fake address & phone number & hit 'Save & Continue'.
  7. Again, on the confirmation screen, hit 'Save & Continue'.
  8. Click 'Pay', then 'Continue', then 'Confirm Order', then 'Your Downloads'.
  9. Choose your preferred download method.
  10. Add the other 5 albums to your basket and download as well.
  11. Enjoy!

Album 1 - Hyperion March 2014
Album 2 - Hyperion April 2014
Album 3 - Hyperion May 2014

Thanks for this. I appreciate classical music so this is good enough for me!

Certainly not for serious listeners as they are just samplers, but still a good opportunity for casual listeners to be introduced to some finest music and performances. Hyperion is a very reputable label when it comes to classical music.

I disagree, I enjoy these samplers a lot to be introduced to more niche classical music. I have thousands of CDs already, and attend orchestras regularly, yet I have never heard of many of these pieces.

    • Just with a terrible web interface that apparently is overloaded at the moment.

    Thanks.

Whilst i'm personally not this classy, its good background music when having in-laws over the dinner etc.

      • And thank you!

      • Sorry for the stupid question but…
        How do you download them?
I opened the links, I get 404 error

    • "Files 100% offline."

    • Looks like they attach a maximum download count for each link, so it seems like you'll have to make an account :(

Thanks for this. And rather than install their download manager, downthemall for FF is a good friend :D

    • Doesn't help that they bloody don't seem to know what a zip file is…

Are you saying that you want to zip an mp3 or a flac file?
They are already compressed and cannot be compressed any more. Zipping them may even make them slightly larger.

Only so I can download them as one job lot instead of individually.

  • Thanks for this. Quite a good selection. Not a typical "classical sampler" type album. Hyperion is indeed a significant classical music record label, and these monthly samplers provide a good selection of less common (less recorded and less broadcast) classical music - with a focus on British music (as it is a British label). The VBR MP3 is very high quality.
