    yum, nice one!

  • Sweet! coffee at work sorted then :)

  • On my way there now, cheers OP!

  • Good deal but i dont like their banana bread… Its a bit chewy.

    • It's actually quite nice, I'm having one right now, great for a dollar.

They don't advertise this in store, so make sure you double check with the cashier first just incase (but they should honour it, since it's on their website)

      • It is being advertised in-store as well as billboards in QLD.

  • wish this was ongoing… i pay $4 every morning for banana bread :\

Buy your banana bread from Aldi, they come as a pack of 5 with individual packing. Just carry one each day and save.

My wife buys the loaves of Banana bread and sometimes Lemon bread from Coles then slices it up, wraps 2 pieces in glad wrap and throws it in the freezer and if you want, transfer it to the fridge the night before.

Grab one out every morning and take it with you. Saves heaps of cash!

^This, plus you can often buy a 1kg loaf from a bakery or markets for around $10

        • +7

What a silly concept, that just means I will eat 1kg loafs of banana bread at a time, about 90 minutes after going to the market / bakery.

          @hamwhisperer:

          I don't see why that's a bad thing?

      • +2

        I can't think of anything worse :-)

    Coffee is good

Very subjective. My first and last 7-11 coffee tasted like mud. :)

    • +3

Sorry boss.. I am a "self Proclaimed" coffee enthusiast and I think their coffee is not bad :D

      • +1

Maybe I was just unlucky with old beans. :(

        • +1

          Nope, same experience here D:

      • +1

Agreed, it's pretty good for the price, for a straight coffee with regular milk.

  • +2

Be careful not to confuse with banana cake slice which is not $1 extra with coffee purcahse.

Is this a joke? The coffee is atrocious. It's watery crap compared to any coffee shop.

    • +1

More water content = more healthier, even greater bargain guys!! :P

    • +3

It's actually not bad. I rate it higher than some of the cafês around here in Brisbane.

Banana bread is incredibly easy to make.

    milk, butter & egg version

    vegan version

    vegan version # 2

I've made vegan banana bread numerous times because I love it so much but stores sell it at exorbitant prices, and I generally do not have animal milk or eggs at home. They taste fantastic, especially cold and can be frozen in batches!

There's a fine line between banana bread and banana cake and nailing it is quite difficult

      • In Australia, banana bread is very cake-like. No yeast used, however baking soda/powder is used so it's a lil like quick bread.

I disagree with your statement, I'm not the best of bakers but banana bread is easy to bake for me. I've made it loads of times and they were all great.

Have you ever tried it? It simple and cheap. give it a shot

        • I love cooking and have tried it a few times however for the "bread" consistency I find that most end up more like "cakes"; I'll give your recipes a go and come back to you.

I had a debate yesterday with a mate who said 7 eleven coffee is better than mccafe coffee. I had one at blaxland maccas and he went next door to 7 eleven

Btw guys there's two different coffee machines that 7 eleven stores have
The newer machine is a 'cafina' branded machine, the same brand used at a lot of cafes and makes quite good coffee
The older machine's coffee is crap
so try to go for a store that has the newer silver machine with the red 'cafina' branding

    • That looks just like the coffee machine at Ikea … which I don't mind at all … but it's free there.

      • yeah thats the one, it produces really good coffee….in fact 7 eleven actually spend a fair bit of money doing a cost benefit analysis on heaps of coffee machines.

      • +1

        Ahh yes that one!

For anyone in Brisbane interested - there's a 7-11 on the corner of Creek and Adelaide St that has this machine there, and even though I'm not a big coffee drinker, I could actually taste the difference.

        • +1

The one at George / Turbot st has it.
The one at George / Adelaide st also has it and provides free powdered chocolate for topping.

        • +1

189 George st also same machine with free choc topping

It's twice as good as 3.5/5.5

      Cool story, bro.

  • I don't mind the coffee. I'm surprised that they actually use fresh milk
