Hi all, am looking for a tablet mainly for when I travel. I don't want to take my laptop and often get quite frustrated using solely my phone. I'm aware of this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/155602 for the LG pad 8.3 but had a look at it at JB today and didn't like the screen and the feel of it. Really like the Samsung tab s 8.4 but a little too pricey. I will mainly be using it for watching movies and general internet usage. I'm also aware that the Nexus 8 is due to come out soon but not on what to expect price wise, although I have heard about $300.
Looking for a 8-9 inch tablet for under $250

Hey thanks for replying. Not a big fan of windows, although no real reason why. I guess I just like the access to more apps.
I've never really worried about apps on my Windows Tablet since I can just install software. Though, I do enjoy having simple widgets/apps that are easily accessible on my phone.
K Mart had a "house brand" (sim. to Audio Technics? it's been a while…) $200 Android tab that might be worth a look.
(The only "issue" we noticed with this Quad-Core tab was its non-standard charger jack => you'd need to carry its charger with you. YMMV.)
Would Windows Tablets be of interest?
