    • The Napthine government announced the impending fare change in December

I thought they had already implemented it and have been using it accordingly… ie standing at the train station next to the ticket machine with my card hovering every so closely, waiting for the train to stop, impatiently scanning, and running to get onto the train. Can't wait till everyone starts doing that LOL

A copy of how to vote cards. The coffee will have an aroma of pork barrel.

    • Can't put my finger on why the local member would be so popular

Last year Shaw was the driving force behind a $13.8 million grant that has cleaned up the station and bus interchange areas, a $65,000 initiative to install CCTV cameras around the city and $2.5 million to restore and protect the Kananook Creek and parklands.

Oh… wait… I think I see now he still has a following in Franganistan.

Edit: One other quote from that story from a resident…

      Lots of people steal petrol…

Maybe I hang out in different circles.

  • The only way they transform my day is by turning in to shit most at least 1 - 2 time a week.

    • …Edit:
      Gross..

  • Useless…..we pay exorbitant prices for public transport that does not work.

yesterday it was a public holiday in my outer area of Brisbane but regular day in Brisbane. so the bus (outer brisbane) was running on sunday schedule (1 per hour!!!!) and was packed to the hilt with all the people going catch the bus within city limits to the city for the regular day. trains were running on schedule.

then on the way home got regular train. surprise! the regular hoards of people who get the trains are now all waiting 30 minutes for the 1 per hour bus (because it is a "holiday" in outer brisbane). so 3 trains arrive and drop off people. 100 people are waiting for the bus. a bus is licensed to seat/accommodate less than that. "sorry" says the bus driver with a shrug "just wait for the next bus - in an hour.

my regular 1 hour door-to-door commute took 2 hours. not even half a bottle of chilled pinot gris could settle my ire.

        I've written a haiku-

        idiot bus company,
        i hate you,
        Lose the next tender

This is a daily issue for us in Melbourne. In terms of packed trains.

        • +1

Packed trains are rarely too full to get on, and your not waiting 1-2 hours for the next one all the while competing for space on the next bus, if people don't listen to you, push them out of your way and if they give you a dirty look give then a piece of your mind ( I've learnt this is necessary given people like to stand in the doorway of trams in melbourne's cbd

Truthfully, we don't, try Brisbane's buses at the adult fare…

  • +2

Advertising all the work they do, will not stop you getting robbed for your coffee at the end of the line.

Yes, great. Gloating about repainting a few stations along the Frankston line in the year of an election. Less PR exercises and more trains running on time would be nice.
