  • Looking at this for a gift. I need something that will push me over the line for this one. Comparing with the GoPro Silver and the Sony sport camera posted yesterday. Argh.

    • Forget everything I said in this comment, I am an idiot.

i can recommend sj4000. equal to a go pro for $99 google it, great review on youtube (30 min in depth review)

I agree, the sj4000 is great!

        • Low and variable light on the sj4000 looks pretty bad in comparison to the go Pro though…. of course the costs are massively different.

        • I do agree with you, plus it doesn't handle shake very well. Although you basically get $99 worth of gopro accessories with a bonus camera.

  • thinking of buying something to film sports like squash and ping pong where the ball is small and very fast. would 30 fps be sufficient for this?

    • +2

This camera says it does 720p60, but I wonder if it's actually the old trick of just filming 720p30 and doubling every frame. I can't find enough info on it either way, unfortunately, as most action cam reviews don't even bother mentioning it.

If anyone finds out, please let me know.

      • lets be conservative and say it is only doing 30fps. would this be able to pick up a really fast small object with reasonable clarity? In my head yes, but wanted to check with someone who knows more

  • How long will the battery last with wifi on? Do we need access point for the wifi or this can act as access point?

    • The battery could last 40 minutes with WiFi on. The camera itself acts as a WiFi hot spot that be can be connected to the ios or android devices.

  • Anyone have a link to sample footage?

  • There is a video review for the similar one:

  • I too can recommend SJ4000 $90 delivered from fox offer.

Extra benefit is it is compatible with all GoPro mounts.
