So what was the original price and what is the price after discount?

    • It's a membership English course. The original price was $36.00 a year. Until Aug. 18, it's only $12.00 a year. I add new lessons, so if you'd like to be my student indefinitely, your price will always be $12.00 a year. On September 2, I'm going to add TOEIC practice lessons because I'm currently writing a TOEIC preparation book for an Asian publisher.

If you don't understand, please copy this page and use Google Translate.

if they don't understand English, how they will understand what you are asking them to do? Doesn't look smart to write this sentence in English, I hope your English program smarter than this move.

    • I was Voice of America Radio's "English Doctor" for several years, and I worked with people from all over the world. Because the Internet connects all of us, many people have learned to use Google Translate on their own, as I do. In my program, every culture is respected and everyone is welcome no matter what level their English is, but I've found that most internationals know at least some English.

        You will be surprised…

But that has more to do with his capacity to learn.

          (joke, jv… just a joke)

  • Does the 80 interactive lessons include webcam/chatting with a tutor over the internet?
It's easy to find e-web resources for learning english, but it's a lot harder to find qualified teachers willing to correct your pronunciation online.
Your website mentions webcam/voice chatting but doesn't tell you much beyond that.
And if there are teachers, hope they consist of actual native english(american/british/aus) speakers and not indian/singaporians/welsh/scottish/irish.

No. I teach conversation in a step-by-step way, which ends with a video conversation with me, but not a live one. I have a Master of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, and I was a teaching fellow at Harvard. I've published twenty textbooks, including a bestselling real English listening book in its 45th printing — "Whaddaya Say" (Pearson Education). I'm also a native speaker.

My learners always have access to me by email, and I'm very generous with my time. I've worked with learners on many things, including LinkedIn profiles, job interviews, etc.

      • So the user will be talking to a video…and no one will correct his pronunciation?

        • +1

My goal was to create materials for everyone. I have free pronunciation videos on YouTube. I have a video listening course that teaches learners to understand real English on Udemy.com ("8 Secrets to English Success"). My full English website is only $1 a month if you sign up before Aug. 18. I also teach classes in person at international companies like Toyota Motor Sales (where I've taught business English since 1999). I'd like everyone to be able to learn from materials I've produced for companies that have every advantage, which is what has motivated me for the past two years.

Did you really expect live lessons for $12 a year?

    For international English learners!

Does this mean the deal is only for international users who want to learn English? I think the sentence formation is incorrect as the interpretation is unclear. Always avoid forming sentences which can be difficult to interpret, specially when communicating with a probable customer who doesn't have good English communication skills.

    Practice understanding native English speakers.
Same as above. I might be really good at understanding the words but not really understand the speaker. For example, I can understand my Mrs's statement, "It's ok, you can go and catch up with your friends over some drinks." But I don't really understand the speaker.

Learn listening tools, practice conversation, use the most important vocabulary, grammar, etc.
Not really sure if there is anything known as 'most important grammar'. There is correct grammar and incorrect grammar. Not 'important grammar' and 'not-so-important-you-can-make-mistakes-grammar'.

I think you could re-phrase the whole paragraph to, 'develop and improve your English communication skills'.

A full English program of 80 interactive lessons on all skills! (For the 65% discount, go to the website — easyenglish.us.com — and click on the red box on the right.)

I would write that as 'A full program of 80…', unless you have named your course as 'English program'.

And, as others have mentioned, that's too complex for a non-english user to understand and follow.

Also, I have noticed, unless someone is confident enough with something, they tend to stay within their comfort zone. In this case, people who are not confident enough about their English communication skills, (Your programme seems to cater for them), they find it easier to navigate around communities which primarily uses their native language as the default mode of communication amongst the user base. If I can't read/understand/write/speak English, I won't really be able to understand anything about a bargain website and how they work and benefit much from it. I will definitely never post new threads or comments because I am not confident about my communication skills. Hence I think you are targeting the wrong platform to advertise your services. You should try university ad-boards, community message boards etc, and always include multiple languages to advertise your service.

And I hope you have some basic knowledge about the person's native language. The only way you can explain something to me in English and make me understand it (instead of making me recite it) is to tell me what that sentence means in my native language.

Please do not rely on Google Translate to translate English sentences into some other language, or the other way around. I work with multiple loc-kits to know how bad they are. :|

    • I think Google would agree that Google Translate is just a tool. I was at a Chinese site earlier and really appreciated Google Translate. Language is much more than words, so I think it'll take some time to make something more accurate, but most of the basic words I used on the website can be easily translated into most languages.
