edit. Oh wait mistook the E12 for the 18, this ain't so good anymore.

Whilst MP4nation doesn't have the L16, they have the X5 for $349.50 and the E12 for $129.50, all on free ship. I doubt the cable costs $37.

  Why would you want an e18 with an x5, given it already has *(arguably superior) USB DAC functionality? The e12 was designed specifically to pair with the x5.

Looking at the discription, it "seems" it's a top-end portable player.
But I know f-all about high end audio, so I'm sure there's others here that could correct/confirm.

  I've got the X3, the one below this one (and only $200), and it's pretty damn good. Dunno how much better this one is, but it should be pretty good quality.

  It's pretty highly regarded. Most people prefer it to it's only real competition, the (lower capacity) DX90. The next real upgrade from it is $1600 for an AK120.

Supposedly the x5 is a bit better. I'm happy with my x3 though. There's a small thread on wp about it.
