20

Hey Guys, don't know if this should be mentioned in Forums or deals.

Anyways, as you all know, Melbourne CBD is so damn expensive, if your planning to park for 2 hours or less. Get yourself "free" parking by spending $30/$60 at Woolworths, Big W, Dan Murphy's and Harvey Norman/Domayne.

If you got nothing to buy, might as well buy a gift card at Woolworths or Big W.

The below special parking rate is available if you shop at Woolworths, Big W, Dan Murphy's and Harvey Norman/Domayne:

Spend $30 to receive 1 hour free*
Spend $60 to receive 2 hours free*

This special can be redeemed at the car park office on level B1. Simply provide your receipt to receive the discount.

*Total spend of $30 or $60 must be from one store only.

I've been told this promotion lasts forever! Thanks ctrlaltdlt

My wife going to try it tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes.

  • "CDB"!

Ok, once is a typo. Twice is just bad.

    • :( My bad

QV car park have this pricing forever and if you spend $1 only at any store, you get a flat rate $18 for the whole day. (not early-bird)

which, even if disregard petrol and depreciation costs, would get you an all day 2 zone public transport ticket ($12.12) and a generous cup of coffee

      • I don't usually drive into the city during the weekdays since its easier with public transport and cheaper. Trains are extremely frequent on the Lilydale & Belgrave Lines which is good on weekdays.

However on weekends I drive into the City if I need to go in. I find it cheaper since you only pay around $10-18 depending on where I park and saves me time.

30min each way from where I live into the City.
If I took public transport, we are looking at 40min each way however possible 20min wait time for a train due to lesser trains on weekend.

I value my time more than a few bucks.

        • For weekend and night parking, if you book online at Secure or Wilson websites, you can usually find $5 parking places in the CBD. Sometimes when they have promotion, can be as low as $3.

      • What about driving with 4 passengers

  • It's been like this since the day it opened… This is not a bargain…

    • I'm happy for the moderators to delete this post if its not a bargain. By the way, what would you call this?

      • Don't worry too much, I work inside qv, not everyone knows, just let ozbargain vote , otherwise the mods can un publish the deal if you want

      • It's not a bargain since most ozbargainers only consider the offer against the standard and historical price of the offer.

Which is the easiest way to do. There are other ways which are harder to do since it involves subjective perceived value

  • Thanks for the post, I didn't know about it. I was only aware of the whole day for $18. Anyway, a lot of inter-state visitors might not know about it at all.

    • there are also some receipts lying around QV anyway in BigW and Woolies, you can get one with more than $30 spend and use it.
