oz350

Vzanda Designs once again offers the Lifetime Hosting package at a fraction of the cost. The current cost is $1,040 but with this bargain, it is lowered to only $350.

Here's what's included in the package:

  • FREE domain registration - .com, .com.au, .net, .net.au, .org
  • 5GB disk space
  • 50GB bandwidth per month
  • Unlimited databases
  • Unlimited email accounts
  • Unlimited sub-domains
  • Unlimited FTP accounts
  • 2 addon domains
  • 300+ one click install scripts
  • cPanel access
  • SSH access - additional option

The new management system allows you to fully set up and manage your account.

The Lifetime Hosting Package in the past drew some comments that should be addressed

  • This is designed for businesses that have a long term goal
  • Lifetime means as long as your site is active. If your site fails in 5 years, you would have paid $5.84 per month
  • Free domain registration means that you do not pay to register but you are responsible for the renewal fee every year
  • SSH Access is available and can be selected on checkout

We sincerely hope that you appreciate the deal we are offering and please feel free to contact us at vzanda.com if any questions arise.

not a deal at all, does anyone would buy a lifetime hosting for $1040.00 AUD..or ever for $350 AUD

  • lifetime doesnt mean you will be around for 100 years

  • -1

How much is the renewal per year?

  • +2

lifetime of your active website or the company… whichever is shorter lola

Lifetime means as long as your site is active. If your site fails in 5 years, you would have paid $5.84 per month

What if your site/business fails before then?

    • +1

Then the Cost per month increases obviously.

      $350 / 60 months (5 years) = $5.84
      $350 / 24 months (2 years) = $14.59

Rep has mentioned they are after people with a long term goal.
This might suit accountants, small business owners, tradesmen, etc. especially if they want a 'set and forget' style hosting where they buy it and dont need to worry about it. Helps them focus on the crux of the business rather than admin related tasks.

      $350 / 120 months (10 years) = $2.92 per month
      $350 / 180 months (15 years) = $1.95 per month for hosting. Not bad.

      • He was no doubt referring to if the hosting business itself fails….

      • @TopCat

        Not what I meant.

We are being asked to pay upfront for lifetime so would be nice to know all the details. Is there is a contingency plan should OP go out of business?

Is there an agreement in place between OP and the hosting provider they resell for whereby payment for our lifetime package is also settled upfront ensuring the continuity of our hosting regardless of OPs circumstances or is OP paying for it all on a monthly basis in which case we are screwed if his/her business goes under.

No way it is a good deal even if Vzanda lasts 15 years. Who would want to host his/her "website" on a hosting account in 2029 with only 5GB disk space & 50GB bandwidth/month? It's like asking the 1999 version of yourself whether a 15-year hosting account with 5MB disk space and 50MB/month data is a good idea…

One thing for sure though — I'll be actively tracking Vzanda's website uptime for now.

I was genuinely interested in this deal the last time it was offered here, just a couple of months ago (for substantially less $$$), so I emailed the company, asking for details on how to go about facilitating a smooth transition from my current hosting company, to them. I never heard anything back. The email was successfully sent, but there was no response.

So rather than attempting to ask the company again, I'll ask the OzB community here in this thread… did anyone take up the previous offer, and if so, how did the transition go from your current host to these guys? Was there any "down-time"?

Also Vanza, if I provide the details of the unanswered email I sent to you guys expressing interest in the previous deal offered here on OB, and you can locate it on your servers and confirm that it was inexplicably flatly ignored, can I subscribe to the "lifetime" deal for the price offered previously, that I originally expressed interest in?

  • Who's lifetime are we talking about here?

    http://cloudatcost.com/ has 'lifetime' VPS for $35 :/

    • Apparently it has lots of performance related problems. See this. I have lots of $10-$20/Year VPS over the years and most of them suck. I value my time a lot more these days…

  • +8

Wow, normal price $1,040 - how do you justify that?
Even $350 is expensive considering you can bypass the middle man and go straight with Cirtex Hosting (who I assume you're reselling for) and pay $30 per year for unlimited space and bandwidth and be on the exact same server.

So to really see the value you'd need to be with Vzanda for just over 10 years with this deal, or over 34 years at full rate……

Sorry if I'm being a dick but this just is a really weird plan

    • Is cirtex the cheapest/best?

      • I've not heard of them so can't say
I tend to steer away from those that offer unlimited bandwidth and disk unless they're a larger company that have a big infrastructure

otherwise its just asking for trouble as they've just taking away one preventative measure of overloading their server(s)

I'm going a bit off topic here so if you can,PM me (I'm new here) ill be happy to give you my personal recommendations

    Lifetime usually means 2-3 years

1st year great sales extra revenue woohoo, head to casino.
2nd year struggle to pay staff & rent
    3rd year unsustainable business closes.

  • +1

Lifetime of company when they go bust or "restructure" their business.

  • +2

I can host your sites for the lifetime of my site, and it's much cheaper. Only $100 down from $500. That is a massive discount of $400. Yust pour your money in my paypal account. I'll sent out the information you need after doing the paperwork ( Cashing in from ebay, Buying myself a one way ticket to an island and retire )

  • What if Vzanda fails first?

  • +5

I haven't voted negative for a while but I have never seen anything good coming out from those "life time hosting deals". For Vzanda,

    • WHOIS info is all masked. So who is behind this business? What's their track record? How do I contact them if the website is down? Well, ABR gives us more info, at least other trading names that you can look up.

    • Vzanda has also attempted to sell the domain on Flippa back in June, and that's after offering OzBargain community "life time" hosting THREE TIMES (#1 $120, #2 $100, #3 $100). The sale on Flippa fell through so my guess is that Vzanda is coming back here trying to drum up more "revenue" before attempting to offload the domain/business again.

So no. Don't fall for it. Unless you enjoy very short lifetime.

    • Their phone number is a residential address too…

    • wow didn't know it was that bad lol AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
