There were 4 items in Monday's newsletter that were on clearance for two days. They've gone back up to their original price before Monday. There isn't any conspiracy.

I look for a dvd player with HDMI USB a while and compare oo with dealdirect, oo sell $58.xx
and Dealdirect sell $67.xx. I bought one from somewhere for $58.00 last week. I check oo still sell the same price for this DVD player today.
ozpete - the implication was not meant as an association. I apologise if that inference was perceived. I was merely saying that it was a well known to the people that view this site and that being the case they should be made aware that in some cases free doesnt mean free. I wouldnt have bothered mentioning it on this site if it was some obscure site that the readership of this site were not aware of.

Could they have left the clearance items on clearance for an extra couple of days - yes
OO would have a lot more credibility if they did - I have bought off DD in exactly the same situation and the price didn't change even though they then started a paypal promo.
I dont want OO to go bust or to sell items at a loss. It just looks bad. Just exclude clearance items from the free promo and also end clearance specials after Thursdays when most people get paid.

I know OO is promoted on Ozbargain alot but I have to say I am mightily disappointed in their apparent "free' delivery promo started today, when you pay with paypal. I went to go and and buy a monitor stand two days ago at $32.95 on clearance but needed to wait till this Thursday before I could buy it. I then get the free delivery email this morning and think great I can save the $8 delivery fee. I go and check the item and the price has gone up $6 to $38.95.
Yeah I know nothing is free in this world but wouldnt it be nice if every so often free really meant just that.
Anyway I am still saving $2 on the overall cost of the stand (including delivery) today as opposed to yesterday.
