    I'm in QLD now but was living in NSW about 4.5-5hrs from perisher.
    We had season passes one year and used to drive down most weekends. If the wife didn't want to go I would sometimes go by myself and just sleep in the car.
    My car was on LPG at the time and it was 36c per litre at most so was very cost effective.
    Both working full time with mortgage at the time too.

    I got the pass when it first came out in 2012. We got our money's worth but just means we had to dedicate every fortnight going to Perisher (from Sydney). 2012 was a good year as there was plenty of snow in June (can't say the same for 2013 or 2014). Would I buy again? No. I'd rather pay $699 and go for 6 days (3 weekends) going to both Perisher and Thredbo.
