I've resisted the PS4 @ 399 thus far… but that damn white paint job is tempting…

    • Don't forget this PS4 destiny bundle also comes with Destiny for PS4 game as a bonus. So that's a $69 game alone if bought from say JB Hi-Fi. And you don't usually get a white PS4 console either. It's probably like a limited edition run.

    • I purchased vinyl stickers and my PS4 is red and black. People can buy vinyl if they wanted to if they don't want white or black.

yea i got a ps4 but i'm gona buy this destiny white one. the games gona be good so worth the $95 premium over the black ps4 with no games. also i dont think you can get a $399 ps4 right now anyway.

    • +1

      Yes you can

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/157890

2% extra off when starting from cashrewards

      • Does the PS4 have an international warranty? If not, the DSE deal might be the safer option. It'll no doubt be cheaper too.

Possible positives or negatives depending on ones personal preference will be the consoles colour as well as the Blu Ray region for movie playback.

        • I believe the PS4 does not have an international warranty.

        • @Phreakuency:

          This is correct

      • Are there any left? It says 0 available? Probably only have to wait a few hours and then they'll have some more like last time.

    • dicksmith ebay store has them for 399

  • +3

what you get extra from this bundle
    Destiny PlayStation 4 Bundle Edition
    30-Day PlayStation Plus Trial
    30-Day Music Unlimited
    $10 PlayStation Store Voucher

  • +5

I still would prefer to pay a little extra to get a pal console with Aus warranty.

But that just me, each to their own.

    • Region free now buddy westy589 or should I call you westy69er?

      • Ah ok didn't realize thanks for the info.

      • +3

Still better to have AU warranty

      • +3

For games. Movies are region locked.

        • Now you can buy cheap blu ray/DVDs from amazon now though assuming you bought it…

        • -2

          @Tal_Shiar:
Yeah it's not a negative as such. Given I own an AU PS3 and XBox One it'd probably be beneficial to have an overseas model.

  • I like the white colour, but just have the black one from hn with 3 years product care. Do you know how much i could sell it to get the white version on 9/9

  • It says it $449.99 + $9.48 Delivery = $459.47 delivered not $495.

    Or is that in USD?

    • +2

You're using the USD prices from Amazon since you've either disabled the Amazon currency converter or the pre-order has it disabled. $459.47 USD = $493.701 AUD.

  • I'm guessing this will need a different power adapter?

    • +1

Could be wrong but I think you will just need a new cable as the PS4 has a universal power supply

    • +1

It just takes a standard ("figure 8") power cable - you likely have one lying around at home anyway. It will only play region A blu ray movies (games are region free).

      • Even if not the figure 8 power cables are only $5.95 from Jaycar Electronics. Surely people could afford $6?.

  • The Destiny console bundle is actually going for $599 in Australia from some retailers. So you can compare prices. About $105 AUD less if bought from Amazon. Or you can pay $105 more from locally to get Australian warranty.

    $598 from Dick Smith.

  • For those after this, I would buy it locally in my opinion

  • +2

Im not sure im a fan of the cosmetic differences.

Once you go black you cant go back

    • thats what she said.. Also cant go back to normal either… like a bucket full of water! (loosey goosey)

    • doesn't matter what colour you choose, we all black when the lights go out… :P

    • I'm guessing white could potentially have a higher resale value for collectors in 20 years (when black becomes the old beige).

    • Gotta disagree. Had a white PS3 while living in Japan and it looked sweet.

For those interested there's in unboxing video of the PS4 White Destiny bundle here so you can see exactly what you're going to be getting.

  • -5

The post doesn't mention that you won't be able to play Australian DVDs or BluRays.

    • -1

DVD will be region locked to DVD region 1 and blu-ray will be locked to blu-ray region A. Sony always region locks the video disc playback on their consoles. It will however happily play region free blu-ray discs.

  • Love the white. Blend to my living room and cabinet perfectly. Looks so good as furniture. lol

  • -6

Isn't this more expensive than the 399 deal?? IN that you can get the console plus the game for 399 + 60 which is cheaper than this?

    • +1

its white… yes not worth it to 95% of people lol

      • -1

i guess if u badly wanted the white this deal is okay, although im sure DSE will have something soon, so better to wait a bit

        • +1

Unless the white console was a limited stock run that was only made for this console bundle. It's probably why it costs higher than the black console because there were less white consoles manufactured.

    • -1

but this one u get 30 day psn, 30 day music, $10 psn voucher. the black ps4 and destiny no this one not have

  • +1

PS4 Plus destiny was $468 delivered this morning from dse but expired

    • +1

That was the black console + destiny. It's not the white console which seems to be worth more. Funny that because the electronics and every thing is exactly the same only the outside plastic is white. It's an example of marketing.

      • An example of perceived value.
Jewellers' diamonds are highly valued where as industrial diamonds are of low value. In reality the jewellers' diamonds are useless. Don't tell Mrs Muncan :-P

      • or quite possibly as its a limited run, the cost per unit to produce probably increases.

        Supply / Demand / Whatever.

Always avoid the colourful consoles, would much prefer it more inline with the other entertainment equipment.

      • The nature of plastics is that black is easier and cheaper to colour. Carbon black is a by product of petroleum production so is cheap. I imagine that it costs more to "colour" plastics anything other than black

but this one u get 30 day psn, 30 day music, $10 psn voucher. the black ps4 and destiny no this one not have

        Echo……Eccccchhhhhooooo….Eccccccccccchhhhhhooooooooooo

  • same white console bundle available pre order from DSE $599 ( $551 after tuesday8 promo code ) , not much more for local warranty and it will probably get cheaper knowing DSE.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/sony-ps4-destiny-bundle-white-ds…

    • It was $598 yesterday from Dick Smith. Charging an extra $1 today all for what nothing. I guess Dick Smith figured the other retailers were charging $599 so they could change the price to suit.
