Australian Bitcoin exchange Domain

I noticed in a thread here that someone sold bitcoin.com.au for $23k. Not sure if others have much experience in domain sales but i have bitcoinexchange.com.authat i initially got to start an Australian exchange. At the time there werent any exchanges but my partner pulled out on me and im left with the domain. Do you think its sellable? If so what do you think its worth?

Im not in a rush to sell it as im happy to build it as a community site and do reviews of Australian exchanges along with general news about bitcoin in Australia.

So OZBargain. Can i buy more eneloops after the sale or should i just hang on to it?

  • The domain itself is likely worth some money. The value I guess is how much someone is willing to pay for it.

If you turned it into a valuable site then it'd be worth more. You don't want to run an exchange anyhow. Suddenly you're in a world of legislative hurt via the Corps Act and AMLCTF laws. Are there any exchange aggregate sites? People might find that useful where they can not only have a community site like you suggested but also aggregates other popular exchanges so people can easily compare where the best value for their bitcoins would be?

  • Thanks for the info, well the intention was to run a business but when the partner fell through, I was stuck as to how to take it to the next level. I think I will look for another partner and see if i can develop it to turn it into something useful.

    • the domain has way too many characters. i'd say the value is less than $100.
