Should be noted the protein content for this is at 41.4% and not the 80%+ you'd get with a WPI non mass gaining variety… For someone looking to add mass and get their protein at the same time, this appears to be a good price given the protein content (as a comparison bulk nutrients is $149 for 5kg @ 87.7% protein)

      So it's basically 2.5kg of WPC + 2.5kg of maltodextrin/dextrose mix for $80.

You could buy 3kg of WPC from Bulk Nutrients ($81 post) + 1kg of dextrose ($5 for Coopers brewing dextrose) + 1kg malto ($5 for Coopers brewing malto) for $91.

This seems like a decent deal.

    • Not sure you'd want to compare a 40% weight gain with an 87% WPI/WPC! Very different and will always be a huge price difference…WPI is very expensive in comparison.

As an indicator, $20/kg for whey protein concentrate (WPC - approx 80% protein) is a good marker. Weight gain (around the 40% protein mark) is a different story all together

  • Any deals or coupon codes floating around for WPC/WPI ?

Knock $10 off if you are a new customer, with a "new" email, they send it out to you. The codes can't be stacked though if you have more than one. They have a code each week for a free product when you spend over $100 (last week was body calipers, now it is this one.

If you want a branded product and have a Chemist Warehouse nearby, I used to buy my weight gainer from Venom but for the past 6 months have been going with this:

    http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=65394&pnam…

USN are a huge company back in the UK, one of the most reputable.

http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/product.asp?id=65397&pnam… I've not tried this but this works out a similar price to Venom too (around $16 a kg). Worth it if you have one down the road like myself, not sure on delivery costs.

Obviously as mentioned these are higher in carbs, coming in to the warmer months I will revert to Venom WPC, I ordered 5 for $98 last week ($10 off for "first orders" with a new email)

    • Looking at the choc one you posted, its only 16% protein, 73% carbs (inclusive 11% sugar)
      Venom - 41% protein, 47& carbs (inc 23% sugar).
I'm a bit concerned about the 23% sugar with Venom but other than that, I think Venom is a better choice here, if comparing the 2.

      • Yeah I just saw that Chocolate one, never had it myself i'm surprised it's that low but weight gainers do vary in protein quantity. A real hard gainer would want such high quantity servings!

The STS that I use in my morning smoothie is 35.5 % protein and a good BCAA/Gluatine quantity, so for me that is why I choose it over the venom weight gainer. The carbs are also more varied.

    • Seconded, prefer the concentrate. Isn't overated and lasts longer than $43.90kg at $18/41%. Sensible option for myself / body index 24.

    • DO NOT GET THIS. I bought this online. Less protein per servings than venom and you can only mix with water (says on the instruction) and not milk otherwise it becomes too thick. Doesn't mix well. Wasted $100. I should of stuck with venom.

by the way anyone who uses any pre workout powder/pills, or multi vits etc. (basically anything that isnt a huge protein powder) Vitacost is SO much cheaper than any aussie site I've found. Ordered 120 Fish Oil tablets and 200 Carnitine tablets for $30 delivered from the states recently, really cheap.

im holding out for their 10-15% sitewide sales to stock up on quest bars

      • is that regular? It's likely that I'll miss it because they bombard with so many emails I don't read them anymore! Even without a sale I'm more than happy to pay around half what I would here, including shipping. They constantly have BOGOF offers and other deals. I stocked on creatine a couple of months ago - still loads left! cost me around $30.
