Cheapest Place for Eneloop D Adapters

I have plenty of AA and AAA, but need 3 D size adapters. Amazon has a for pack for $25 delivered and B&H is $15+pH

Wondering if anyone knows of any cheaper ones than these?

i got four for around $5 iirc from ebay

  • OP, I am just going to guess that the 'D adapters' you are referring to, on Amazon, are Eneloop-branded ones that adapt just a single AA battery?

Very sturdy, but surrounding that battery, they feature a silly amount of empty-space/lost potential for less frequent battery charging.

If you look carefully in the link above you will see many listings for adapters that work to adapt 2x AA cells to D, not just 1. They are very cheap, and work very well.

A bit more expensive (still just a few bucks each), if you search with appropriate terms you will narrow-down a few of the listings that cycle on eBay for adapters that accommodate/also adapt in parallel, 3x AA to D size. We live in exciting, Eneloop-related times.

Have a look. Take your pick of one of those two better options.

  • I got a D adapter, 2 of them (with 2 Eneloop AA batteries) and put it in a wall clock and it just didn't work. Probably either no proper contact or not enough juice, I don't recall.

  • Thanks for the replies everyone. I ordered from eBay, saw them but was hesitant on the quality. Still, at that price I took the gamble

    • If you bought the 2xAA-to-D adapters - they work well. Apply nice even pressure across the hinged battery hatch when closing and they will last a long time. Mine have.

I had a look at one of my lists on eBay. Here's one of the 3xAA-to-D adapters that I mentioned.
The ones I have are white, but I can now only see some more expensive listings on eBay for those. They are still there, if you are horribly averse to yellow.
