I had my vodafone 2 yr contract finished in August. And I posted some details about my expectation for a new phone plan in this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140537.
I examined my usage for last couple of months and found that I make around 60-70 calls per month.
about 90% of the Australian calls are to other Vodafone numbers (most of them to my wife).
And I used the other remaining call credit to call family and friends overseas.
Last Friday I contacted the Vodafone call center and got a HTC One(M7) on $40 month package. I managed to get a $5 off of the contract so I only need to pay $35 per month (new phone is now on the way).
HTC One ticked most of my previous requirements. but I prefer to have a large display with better battery life.
Is it a good idea to sell the HTC One now(without even opening the box) and wait couple of months to buy a hand set which I like(LG G2 or G3). I can live with my Galaxy Nexus for that time :)

Why did you get HTC One if you really wanted an LG G2 or G3
Of couse it's a matter of preference but HTC One probably has the best build quality, and LG G2 and G3 are wonderful phone.
If you are planning on selling then do sell without opening box so you get the top dollar
