Vinomofo SECRET DEAL 95 Pt Riesling Wine $126/12 Pk $9 Ship $25 Credit New User

44

Sorry guys but Vinomofo has requested that people desist from publicly revealing their secret deals, as they feel it is damaging their ability to secure these deals with their suppliers. I'm sure none of us want that to happen as they offer so many great wine bargains! (This post originally revealed the secret wine identity). Suffice to say this one looks like a very nice wine! I'll have to find another hobby now :(
Happy quaffing!

As usual, new Vinomofo users can use the referral links below for $25 off.

Yep, looks like referral spam to me too.

Why bother posting if you're not even helping identify the wine. Im sure every ozbargainer is getting their emails by now

Did you see my original post easternculture? You do like to stir things up don't you.

        • @Sweet3st:

nah .. i just took an educated guess. Did i pass !!

@Sweet3st: Anyone who knows how to use the "revisions" feature will find it anyway.

My original post revealed the wine identity, but I have edited the post at their request. No, I wouldn't bother posting otherwise, but I don't think I can have this post removed now.

        • lol you want to remove it now bc of all the -ve votes. haha.

        • -1

@easternculture: I couldn't care less about the -ve votes as they're all your mates.

        • @Sweet3st: keep calm and report your post to the mods

but I have edited the post at their request.

Don't think I would ever buy their wine if I didn't know what it was…

In fact, it probably should not be posted at all without saying what the wine probably is, as then you cannot compare the price…

Vinomofo prices seem to be going up and up and up recently…

Is anybody else getting telephone SPAM from them ???

    • +1

Yep, after the first time they called I asked politely to stop as I only buy wine when there is none left in the house. They stopped calling and I continued to drink my cleanskins.

  • +1

yep, waaaaay too many phone calls - should be an easy way to opt out of these through their website. Also, the garbage about people revealing the secret wine is a croc. Neg

I've looked. There isn't even a way to remove your phone number….

Update it to a wrong number?

        • Update it to a wrong number?

Where exactly on the website can you update the number?

  • How has Vinmofo communicated that 'guessing' their BlackMarket deals not be discussed on independant forums!?

    ffs .. Self Censorship, much!?

If they have an issue let them raise it with the OzB moderators!

Can I ask a silly question? Why do we care if Vinomofo like or don't like people "revealing" their secret deals? Personally I would suggest that these sort of posts actually drive up sales….besides.. isn't it what OzB is about anyways?

Plus its not like we are going to come back at you here and say "that's not the wine you described, give me my money back"…as a poster here you are making an educated guess.

    Vinomofo have a great return policy anyways…so buy…drink a bottle…don't like…return the rest..get your credit back…do it all over again..no harm done.

    • The bloke doesn't care about the deal, he's only interested in referral spam.

    • -1

True. I'm sure you're right about driving up sales, and to tell the truth it's really about the buzz of 'detecting' the wine (a bit like the cryptic crossword, addictive). However I'm a regular Vinomofo customer and I like my wine deals, so do I really want to bite the hand that feeds me?

  • Hi Ozbargainers,

It's about time we addressed this issue, because while we can understand that guessing the identity of Secret, Black Market and Contraband Deals is half the fun, please be aware that these deals need to stay secret, or else we risk not getting them any more. Our producers supply these wines to us for these formats so it won't affect sales of the product in other channels - and understanding that we're not the only wine retailer, we agree to do our best to keep that secret. Yes, having the identity revealed would be beneficial for sales in all cases, but we want what is best for our customers in the long term, and that's by maintaining our strong supplier relationships. It's not in anyone's interest to jeopardise a wine producer's livelihood by adversely affecting their other sales.

See the wording from our site Terms and Conditions below.

One of the most awesome things about Vinomofo are our secret and black market deals - these are deals so epic, wines so awesome, that the only way we can get them is by agreeing to keep the identity of the wine and the producer secret. We ask you to keep that secret with us. Please don't post it anywhere, even if you are super-excited about it.

This way, we'll all get to keep enjoying them. If we blow it, we won't be able to get these deals anymore. So let's work together, and respect our agreement with the producers of these awesome wines.

Otherwise we'll be forced to cancel your account, and permanently block you from using Vinomofo, which we'd rather not have to do.

So please enjoy guessing, enjoy buying, enjoy referring each other, but if you could respect the producer and their wish for their wine's identity stay private on a public forum, both the producers and we will be most appreciative.

    Cheers!

    Chris
    General Manager, Vinomofo.

    • As a suggestion, you probably wouldn't have the problem of users 'outing' secret wines as bargains if you discontinued your $25 referral scheme - prior to a small number of referral driven users taking advantage of this and posting enthusiastically, very few vinomofo deals were posted on the site.

Hi Chris. Thanks for clarifying. Can I just point out that your website Terms of Use are not prominently featured on your site, and are not placed so that users would easily come across them unless they were looking specifically.

  • Hey Sweet3st, thanks for the feedback, and duly noted. We don't want to interrupt the user experience, and we realise that people don't post these things with any malicious intent most of the time, so would rather just deal with it on a case by case basis. Like you, by and large our Mofos and Mofettes are awesome and very understanding, and want to continue to have access to these awesome offers.

Meanwhile, we're working actively on clarifying our wishes (and those of the producers) without interrupting user experience, so rest assured this shall be clearer in the short term. Thanks for helping out in the meantime - the wine industry salutes you!

Just drinking a cheeky Cherubino Shiraz as we speak - hope something equally awesome is in your glass at this hour on a Friday.

    Cheers,

    Chris.
