There is something I want from the 1/2 price wollies catalogue and its already sold out by Friday. Can I ask them for a raincheck when they get stock later?
I have never tried doing this before but someone at work suggested it. Does anyone knows if this would work?

Yes, basically they may go check to see whether they have more stock. They'll then give you a coupon outlining your raincheck and will ask how many you want to buy. When it's back in stock just give them the coupon and someone will override the price.
Am I the only one who read that as Rednecks at Woolies? I thought it was gonna be thread like those People of Wal-Mart ones.

Has anyone ever managed to get rainchecks on fresh produce like Deli goods, meat and fruit and veg? If so, have you had any problems when trying to redeem the raincheck?
I've had WW rainchecks on deli goods, meats, catalogue sales etc.
They last for 12mths and never had a problem redeeming them. If I wanted 15 units of an item, and only 10 were in stock, they would cross off the 15, and write 5 and inital it.
Coles, on the other hand, basically have to hand over your first born in exchange for a raincheck with a max of 4 units.
I've never had a problem getting a raincheck at Coles.
Only every done it once at Coles- the Fairy Platinum dishwashing tablets.
No issues at Coles.. $22 on the shelf- raincheck was $7.
Who the hell would pay the full price of $22 for 30 tablets?
My Woolworths rainchecks always have 4 weeks validity and it is also printed on it. How come are they are valid for 12 months?
This is a really old thread.
At the time the thread started Woolworths were issuing 12 month rain checks. Eventually the stores ran out of stock of the 12 month rain checks and the policy had changed back to 4 week rain checks.
@pointscrazy: Makes sense. My bad. I didn't notice the date of the comment. :) Good to know it used to be valid for 12 months though. Those were the days..
I've received and have also been knocked back on rainchecks for items 'until stocks lasts'- Nappies, depends on the person working there at the time.
Also, some WW stores' rainchecks are 30 days, others 1 year.
I don't normally get rainchecks, but with nappies that are half price I make the effort :)
Woolies do it more now because Coles do it and so on. When one stops so will the other.
Woolies don't do it because they're nice and care about the customer because if they did the rest of the group would - like Big W - who rarely have any stock of anything advertised and are an absolute joke. In fact I think woolies rainchecks now last longer than Coles, and their supply chain is very good now, like Coles.
