Value of HTC One M7

Hi,
I shouldn't have got into this mess in the first place but here's my story.

I received a HTC One M7 as part of Vodafone Contract upgrade with $5 discount on $40 plan(I pay only $35 per month).

My usage is mainly for other Vodafone numbers and International calls.

I compared the value I get from this plan with Vodafone $20 International Prepaid pack(both give free Vodafone to Vodafone calls).
If I use the whole credit value;
Current $40 plan gives me about 18 (7 mins ) overseas calls plus 500MB of Data per month.
$20 International Prepaid pack gives 20 (7 mins) calls plus 250MB of Data.

So I pay $15 per month extra for the HTC One M7 handset plus 250MB of extra data (which is extra $360 over 24 month period).

Now to the Question. HTC One M7 seems to be a great phone (I had a look at it at the Vodafone store) with great reviews. But I prefer to have a phone with slightly larger display and larger battery(e.g:- LG G2, LG G3, Note 3 or One Plus One).
I can survive on my current Galaxy Nexus for another 5-6 months if needed (and phone prices will come down further by then).
So I am thinking of selling my HTC One M7 now (which is still on its' original sealed packaging) and keep that money until i can find a suitable phone for my usage needs(reading eBooks, watch videos, occasional calling).

What would be the best value to expect for this phone. please use voting option.

Thanks in Advance.

You should have purchased Apple as it has the highest resale value.

  • You can get fair view of pricing from EBAY and GUMTREE.

  • eBay you would get about $300 probably less. don't forget listing fees/final valuation fees on top which effects your net position. I've seen the M7 sell on Buy Swap Sell sites for as low as $200.

  • if it's brand new and sealed like you say, could get 350 for it easily, if it's 32GB.

  • For brand new sealed AU stock I'd pay a premium over the grey imports, if as long as it wasn't network locked.

  • Hi All,
Just to give an update on my quest to sell brand new unopened HTC One M7 (Australian Stock from Vodafone).
I sold it for $370 after a one week listing on Gumtree.

Now I wait at least couple of months with my old phone. Hopefully I can cope my craving for a new phone. and the prices will come down further by then.

Thank you all for your comments and votes.

    • haha and I got negged saying you could sell it for $350 easily… nice though.

    • Good outcome. I got a new one on gumtree last week for $300 so you did well.

I love the M7, great phone and very nice looking design.

      • You've got a bargain for $300 I Must say.
M7 indeed is a nice phone, I sold it solely because of my craving for large display phone(+larger battery).
I can use that money to buy a large display phone (hopefully LG G2 or OPO or something similar).
P.S: I got about half a dozen offers for $350 but I kept it until the offer exceeded my break even point($360).
I was thinking to keep it if I couldn't sell it above $360. But now I am relieved as I got the price I expected.
