Breville Microwave BM0634 on Sale for $199 Save $149 at Target (x3 Flybuys if purchased online)

90

I've been looking for a new microwave and been eyeing the Breville Bmo634. It's now on sale at Target and got a decent review in Choice magazine in January this year scoring 84% from memory.
Got an email from Target saying it's triple Flybuys points if purchased online.

  • Whats this microwave like? I was thinking of replacing my extremely old microwave with something like this but I was hoping to hold out for a convection microwave…

    • +1

The cheapie (<$500) convection nukers are pretty crap…I can't comment on the above one.

      • +1

        I disagree.

My previous cheap convection microwaves (<$200 from Kmart/Aldi/BigW) have been just as good as my current Sharp R880B…nay, better in fact. All are still working just fine in various family members' homes. The Sharp OTOH is a POS, despite costing >$500 it was never any better & will likely be binned soon in favour of another cheapie.

The other thing most people don't realise is that these things are nowhere near as efficient as a real convection oven…yeah, they'll get there in the end, but don't expect the quick baking performance from a convection microwave that you'd get from your wall oven, it's just unrealistic.

  • The Triple FB points is only on homewares. Not sure if the Microwave counts as it is kitchen appliance? I dunno but assumed wi would only be for purchases such as vases, pictures, and etc.

  • Anything in Stainless Steel?

  • +1

I have this unit in stainless steel.
Paid $240 from Harvey Norman a few months back.
Nice unit, looks great and works well.
Is a little noisey though particularly starting but overall very happy.

  • Doesnt seem to say anything about colours? The one in the pic looks white but googling you can get red too..I want a stainless one!

  • +1

Nice looking unit and a very tempting price if all you need is the microwave function.

    Check out this beauty: http://www.appliancesonline.com.au/sharp-steam-microwave-ax1…

Damn expensive, which makes the purchase hard to justify but geez would I love one!!

  • Thanks! Perfect timing for me. Couldn't find any reviews but at least my wife will be happy with the way it looks!

DO NOT BUY ONLINE. it takes forever to come to your nearest store + it gets bumped during transport. Mine had some stickers come off (you can't really return it just because the stickers tore off but it was an indication of how much bumping and shaking it had gone through - which can affect parts inside microwave & lower its life)

    • Thanks for the tip. I wonder if good guys will price beat this?

    • +1

That's just a bad delivery experience (possibly). The stickers might have come off because they lost their stick? It all gets knocked about in trucks no matter how you purchase it.

  • Good Price, my parents brought the Red version from Good Guys last week for $275 including free large bamboo chopping board.

    • +1

Good guys have a 30day price guarantee so your parents can claim 110% of the difference back I think

      • It's 120% but the deals are not identical. There is no free bamboo chopping board included at Target.

        • Don't think Target are doing the Red one either are they?

        • @melmac77:

Don't know but at the store I went to, there was only white.

  • Anyone know the dimensions of this microwave? Can't see it on the target or Breville websites (mobile sites)

    • +2

      Height: 314
      Width: 519
      Depth: 418
      Weight: 15.5

      • Thanks jdr, it's about 12mm to tall for my microwave space

    • Finding it mind boggling that Breville don't list it on their website

      • Same here. I got it from BillyGuyatts.com.au

  • Thanks op. Just picked one up. Looks good for $199. Probably better atound at the origional price

  • I picked one up today. Target only have the white version. Seems to be good on the features but it definitely is pretty loud.

  • it shows $349 on the website
