Came across this ad in today's Southern Star newspaper. No mention of it on the http://fant-asia.com.au website (yet?).

$400M Centre extension opening 18/9.
If you're a local - you can't miss the promotions for the extensions. Unless I see bargains (like this), I'm not impressed.
I'm not eating at a chain where that happens. So I am negging this.
Negging a great deal due to something that happened nearly 3 years ago and (what that article doesn't really say) wasn't specific just to one restaurant in the food court…
Personally, I don't go back to any store that has had a rodent issue, I haven't been to Nando's in over 3 years since I saw a rat doing a salsa in the window of a store. I think a neg in this case is quite warranted as I'd like to know these things and would be horrified if I ate there and then found out…
I think the article does say it fairly clearly:
[Prosecutor April Freeman] said it was accepted there was “a significant rodent problem” in the Myer Centre food court at the time […] Ms Freedman said another business trading in the centre at the time, Japanese Bento, was fined $25,000 after inspectors found two live rats in a storage cupboard and a disused oven around the same time.
and
[Magistrate Judith Daley] said she accepted the rat droppings were found in a climate where there appeared to be a “significant rodent problem” in the Myer Centre.
It is, of course, juicedpixel's prerogative to dismiss all Fantasia outlets with the incident at one outlet in a shopping centre acknowledged as having general rodent issues at the time.
If 'negging' was a prerogative based on what you think of a product irrespective of whether it's a deal or not, you'd have Ozbargainers 'negging' away at every listing just because of some whiney personal episode of bad warranty claim, some jerk at a Harvey Norman store, Dick's Deals getting boring etc etc.

As that was an old case due to issues at a major food court about 12 km way, not confined to this food retailer chain, so unrelated to this deal in just completed shopping centre & different staff, the neg has now gone.

Went to FantAsia, very good on them to give some good portion serving.
Garden City Reno finishing soon. New stores etc. this is likely a promotion to drive traffic to the new shops opening in the new area etc.
