The link seems to be busy. Anyone else having trouble downloading it?

    • Just loading forever and nothing happening

    • It seems to work better in Internet Explorer (First time ever!). I was using Google Chrome before.

    I say bulltish on this.

    • +13

Can confirm, it raised by upload speed from 2Mbit to 20Mbit.

Who needs NBN when you have AVG :)

Seems some people wouldn't know sarcasm if it hit them in the face

    Thanks lukeloop

It appears to use the same serial.

Windows 32/64 bit License key: IBY9X-ESYXT-W4BZQ-QI4WX-A9LI7-INRS3

    File names:
    avg_ipw_x64_all_2015_5315a8160.exe 64bit version
    avg_ipw_x86_all_2015_5315a8160.exe 32bit version

      ^^ this guy

    • Yep, my serial was the exact same as the above.

    • +1

Just use this key in the "activate" option if you already have free installed and you're good to go

  • +1

Furthermore, please take note this freebie is really a 365 day extended trial of AVG Internet Security 2015 instead of an actual one year license. In terms of features and protections, there are no differences between a trial and a real license — you get all the same features, updates, and protection. The difference arises in who can install it.

If you have used AVG Internet Security in the past, then you might not be able to install an extended trial and thus won’t be able to get this freebie.

I can't confirm this yet as kids are playing right now…

    perfect price, the product however…

    • +5

      and this guy^^

  • it's a trial serial, doesn't work for me since I've already used one.

    • Same here. Mine now expires in 3 days. I even tried uninstalling the program and re-installing it, but that didn't seem to work :-(

      • format

        • That would require starting from scratch, correct?

        • @kimba88:

Unless you can find and remove the secret entries the program dumps in the registry which are not removed during an uninstall.

  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/158381 is a better anti-virus for anyone interested. Proven by people who run tests against them all.

    • dat deal is expired
dis is the current free internet security deal

      • dis. I mean dat. I mean…

      • +1

I just tried the link in that deal and it gave me six months of bitdefender for free.

        • +1

          Ouw well
It seems dat the deal marked as an expired wrongly

      • Soz was intoxicated and cbf saying the deal was still valid.

    • See bank sites as they may offer free anti virus scams. Bit does not work with AVG

  • only for Windows, Mac version is not part of this deal

    • +3

Hold on, mac users would have us believe they dont get viruses, what use would they have for security?

  • Any opinions on how this compares to AVAST?

AVAST was my go to in version 5 and 6, but sadly it's gone all bloated like most software does. I just want a simple AV with minimal features and footprint.

      • +4

one simply does not recommend Norton

      • +2

You don't seem to understand antivirus scene much, do you?
I neg you just so people seek another opinion - I don't believe your statement is quite true. Especially about Norton.

        • Funny that i am negged for my opinion, at the same time both replied comments offered absolutely no opinions of your own about AVG vs AVAST. If you know so much then tell us and contribute.

    • +1

      I have used AVG, Avast and Avira extensively — there are little differences between them: Avira has the most user-friendly interface of the three (at least in the current version), it also performs admirably well on AV-Test.org and other test site scores, the free edition beating many of the paid programs;
      AVG is one of the most efficient, lightweight AV software available, and is a great choice for older hardware\limited resources — this version includes a range of other tools not found in the free version, which should make it more attractive, and help keep your computer secure (ie. firewall, antispam tools);
      Avast has boot-time scanning which helps remove stubborn infections;
also consider other software like Panda Cloud Antivirus which has takes the processing off your PC, and is more proactive protection against new threats (there are other cloud-based AV tools but not free AFAIK).

Unfortunately nothing seems to completely protect browsers from malware\hijackers, so you have to be vigilant with MBAM.

  • Thnx

  • Serial not accepted on Windows Home Server 2011 operating system. sure its a server but it is by definition at "home", blergh annoying.
