Aussie Brewed Draught Beer Hammer 'N Tongs $30 for 30x375ml at Liquorland

50

I went pass Liquorland during lunch time and saw this poster on its wall advertising Aussie brewed draught beer Hammer 'N Tongs $30 for 30x375ml cans. Not sure how good is the beer but it's been a while since a beer priced $1/can.

This beer tastes like someone has drunk real beer, pissed in a can and sealed it up. For the budget concious beer drinker, Rivet is available at Aldi everyday for $27/slab. Note that Rivet is only 330ml cans however.

    • Hmmm, the sneaky buggers have put the price up. Rivet was $24.99, it's gone up to $25.99 on the web site. Where are they slugging you $27 for it?

  • It's pretty good for $30 for 30 cans ($1 per can).
It tastes ok after the first one :)

    • good on you gone through the first one

Thing is, yeah it's cheap but is it a bargain? This is the everyday price.

Also, how come 'draught' beer is in a can? Should be from a keg and tap to be a draught.

Technically true CWH, but this seems to be a technicality that the beer industry abandoned decades ago… for example, "Carlton Draught" has been available in a can for about 50 years…

  • from memory- this used to be geelong bitter. vile vile 'beer"

    Normal price, not a deal

  • I like this stuff… I must have no taste?

    • or the beer has no taste

actually this is not terrible, its OK I bought a six pack of bottles for $12.. heard it was brewed by Boags and this is a relaunch, apparently the old stuff was not good though.

    • Used to be brewed by Boags when Boags had a different owner. This relaunch is brewed somewhere else, not sure where.

To me this 'beer' tastes like soda water with metho' in it. Quite possibly the worst beer I have ever tasted; and I've tried all the cheap ones.
For my money, the best of the 'budget brews' is that 'Hahn Ice' stuff that comes in blocks of 30 cans (available for ~70$ for two boxes, most of the time from BWS, and sometimes from L.Land). Not because it tastes good, but because it has very little taste at all; which is preferable to the usual terrible taste that accompanies most cheap beers.

  • I really like this beer. Seriously was the best i've gotten for the buck spent! I still remember the first time I came across it was when I was trying to grab something quick for the lads for cricket and found this.

    Definitely good stuff!

  • Cheaper than a bottle of water/can of coke. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing

  • the comments on this page are a better deal than the beer! You just cant beat our vernacular!
