Got wrong Model of Samsung Galaxy S5

Hey Guys, I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 from this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161450 Just received it now and after opening the box realized that they sent me the Dual sim model SM G900FD rather than SM-G900F as per my Ebay order. Now I don't have any use for Dual Sim and am wondering that if this model has inferior specs as is usually the case with Dual sims mdels compared to standard Models. I tried goggling this but cant find much relevant information and I am hoping one of you guys might enlighten me?
Thanks in advance

    Looks identical, does 4G work?

    • Looks identical to me as well; I got old GF vaya plan so dont have 4G but will test it out with a mate Sim soon

      • Can confirm 4G works

    The g900fd is 1.5g heavier

    • Probably the weight of the extra sim card slot :-)

Thanks for the link Jas; Very reassuring. Ironically enough Dual sim has already come in Handy. Since I have upgraded from Samsung galaxy S2 i needed a Micro sim and Ozbargainer in me loathed the idea of paying $20 to Vaya for a new Sim so I have decided to cut the Sim myself. I mean how hard could it be? Turns out harder than i can manage. My cutting skills were not upto to the mark and Sim does not seem to work in the Main slot but works in Sim2 slot which is bit easier to Position. Now I am wondering should i finally fork out $20 to Vaya to get a proper micro sim to use in slot 2 or just continue using as it is. This article seems to indicate there would be no adverse impacts. Anyway gives me something to ponder upon. Thanks for all the replies Guys

As long as it works and it seems to stay in firmly, then don't waste your money on Vaya's exorbitant sim replacement fee.

        • Yes thats what i was thinking especially now that i Have got the Sim working in Sim 1 slot as well. But over all i am quite happy with this Dual Sim phone

Or just walk into an optus store and ask to borrow theirs. Telstra and vodafone dont have cutters in-store.

My optus store was happy to cut my telstra and other sim cards.

Never dealt with vaya, but I had the same issue with telstra sim. I went to their store and they cut it for me for free.

      • some phone shops will cut them for free. -even those phone repair booths in shopping centres

I got mine today and it too was the Duos model. Everything I could find seems to indicate that there isn't any significant difference. Delivery was quick too.

I also got the Duos model, but had purchased the single sim model.
They have already responded that they will exchange.

    • Yes they offered me exchange option as well but i decided to keep dual sim version. Probably what they were hoping for; I am sure they did not sent out Dual sim by mistake. They must have run of regular model and tried their luck with this hoping 8out of 10 will just keep this

  • Does the dual one have the same 4g freq bands as the normal S5. I have read that the new 700MHz band that Optus, Telstra will be using is not the same as other 700MHz bands.

  • Have anyone thinking to use Qi Wireless charger?
Will the cheap one on ebay do the same job or better get the genuine Samsung?
Will it affect with the battery life?
    Cheers.

  • Anyone with a unwanted dual sim version want to sell or do a swap for a single sim??
