  • I recall paying US$5.49+tax for a 1L can of cold Asahi in San Fran… from a convenience store! It was extremely convenient.
    Anyway, I digress. Good times.

    • Best I found was Y240 for a 500ml in Japan last month! ;)

      • Nice!

    • Yeah, I remember paying bugger all for beers in NYC -> in Duane Reade stores (Basically a Priceline!) which had super cheap brews.

  • Thx op
Used cashback website and paid with the 5% off ING paywave pre-purchased wish gift card, good price!

  • Purchased!

  • Is this an online only price or in store too?

  • Is it the genuine made in Japan one?

    • IIRC the 2L can is only made in Japan?

Yep made in Japan, same as the 1Litre cans. I've stopped buying Asahi by the case since it is all now made China.

    • Fukushima fresh!

I don't want to drink the Japanese beers which are made with radioactive contaminated water, even if free.

We are all radioactive waste. Thank the Big Bang.

      • No one has an information about the radiation side effects of internal exposure.

    • Do you drink vodka? I heard there was a radioactive spill in Russia too and probably contaminated as well right?

      • not all vodka comes from Russia.
        I prefer Polish vodka.

For anyone in Melbourne it is slightly cheaper per litre to buy the bottles from Old Richmond Cellars in Richmond.

    http://www.oldrichmondcellars.com/beers/imported-beers/asahiā€¦

    • Old Richmond used to have an amazing range including Yebisu (for only $65 a case!), etc. In the last year or so they have cut back their range mainly to just long necks (due to import restrictions they tell me). Also, the Asahi pictured on that link isn't the Japanese one, but knowing that this place does stock real Japanese stuff, it could just be the wrong image.

For those of you looking for another real Japanese beer in Melbourne, Fujimart in South Yarra have 500ml can of Kirin Ichiban for just over $3. Otherwise, Suzuran in Camberwell stock real Asahi in bottles & cans, plus Yebisu, Kirin Ichiban and a few others :)
