  • Since you have a week and plan on renting a car, spend a day in Brisbane and visit Mt Cootha (for lunch/dinner?), XXXX Brewery, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, etc. You could also drive south for a day and visit Nimbin/Byron Bay/Lennox Head.

East Coast Car Rentals usually get good reviews on here for being cheap and reliable.

Yeah. There's quite a few. Movieworld, Dreamworld, Seaworld, Wet n Wild. You just have to decide whether you like rides, water or just seeing stuff.

Also, that budget is quite limited if you're going to have to pay for accomodation for a week I'm thinking there won't be much left….

        • rides….plz but my gril friend likes just to look…

and its her birthday i might do what she likes

Your budget is tight to say the least. Forget about theme parks.

If you plan on swimming, keep in mind that Surfers is generally a pretty rough beach as its fully open.

Also, your dates are on the second week of schoolies (28 November 2015 - 6 December 2015)

I prefer to stay in Burleigh Heads which is much more protected and friendly from a swim perspective, and also less touristy and has some nice places for breakfast. You won't be going to breakfast on that budget, so you need to find yourself an apartment.

There shouldn't be much schoolies crap going on in Burleigh.

If you get a hire car, you could also head down to Byron Bay for a couple of nights. There is a caravan park there right on the water which you can hire beach side villas from that are pretty reasonably priced.

  • I don't know your age but heres my thoughts.
don't bother with Brisbane, you haven't much cash for the hols so don't have a car for most of it, save the money for fun. (it's only a week).
Stay at Surfers or Broadbeach and then you can use the new tram to travel along Broadbeach to Southport.
It will be summer so lots of beach time relaxing and then nights for dinner and romance.
Plenty of places and shops around. If you want a theme park go to sea world (5 minute bus from surfers).

visit Burleigh Heads at Friday night and go to Ze Pickle for a great feed and time (fantastic boutique beers and an even better burgers) . Longboards in Surfers Q1 is great and then you can go up to the 80th floor for fantastic views and cocktails (choose late afternoon or night). Sunday morn buffet breakfast at the Southport yacht club or Southport Surf Club over looking water.

Don't try to jam to much in the week, relax in the sun and eat and shop…
If you really want to go away from Surfers/Broadbeach maybe go for a day down to Byron Bay.

    (I live up here)

Not sure but you might be here in Schoolies time?

    • oh allright i just indirectly asked her if she is looking forwards for 2-3 days trip and she said NO she wanna relax home a while and spend dinner in classy reto with me.

keep saving though, cos I dont think $600 is enough, accommodation will be that.

    • i see…. maybe i head on with pals in decembers…as she is not looking forward to travel for few month

  • and now she wanna go thailand in april
