  • It was probably $200 cheaper a few days ago, before DS changed the price upwards.

Someone should really do a camelcamelcamel of AUS retailers.

    • +1

Considering it has an 840M, I doubt it would have been much cheaper
Actually going by the purchase history it was more expensive at $905.67-999.00 in August

  • It's not touch screen.

  • 2500mAh battery

am i wrong or some phones have more battery than this laptop?

    • not quite, laptop batteries are usually 4,6, 9 etc cell range but phone batteries are just one cell i.e 3.7v

    • +3

      6-cell
      Battery Chemistry Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
      Battery Capacity 2500 mAh

      6 x 2500 mAh Total = 15,000mAh ( Hope that helps )

My LG Pro 2 5.9" Mobile phone has a single 3200mAh Battery

      • +1

so, this laptop runs on 3.7v??
your calculation assumes all 6 cells are in parallel, which is where the voltage stays the same but you add up the current, the typical 6 cell battery would be 3 cells in series(gives you the 11.1v) other 3 cells are in parallel and total power is measured in Watt-hours

    • voltages - laptop batteries would be 11-12v, phones would be much lower

Good CPU/RAM/GPU for the price. But do to it any justice, first thing you'd want to do is swap the HDD for an SSD, and Acer have apparently made that and other upgrades a pain on this model :-/

  • Looks like a decent price GPU and CPU wise… If only I hadn't gotten a new laptop already :(

  • Think I'll bite the bullet and get this one. Should be good enough for some gaming/data processing at home

  • That awkward moment when you realise that this notebook costs even less than last year's iPhone.

  • OW has a hp envy for $997. Which one would be a better deal?

    • +1

This would be better for games

If not wanting to play games I'd get https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/163784

      • Kinda need soon so prefer in store, why that one though? I never heard of Horize plus it's not new

        • Because it comes with a good screen

        • Thanks mate

  • If the Amex can be used it's another $15 off per $100 spend

  • +2

It is a good price, although the screen probably lets it down alittle (not by much). You will be able to game fine on it with the external graphics, a 1680x1050 screen would be better.. Has good amount of ram so saves you upgrading down the track.
I've had an aspire for 7 years now kids use it as its too slow now and still going strong so may look at this deal myself.
Just want a hands on first to check it out so will drop into dse or officeworks tomorrow.
Some of the lenovos are comparable in price on their sales if you wait

If you need a laptop quick then go for this deal also lenovo has a comp going

    Dont forget the code 1AE0

    Cheers for the bargain..

  • Bought the acer. Went into store to check it out,., shame they can't match in store so I can use the Amex

  • $69 cashback as well!
