      If you bought a Chromecast at any time, check your Google play account under the ` redeem' tag. You should have $6 waiting to collect, which you can use to set-up a payment method :-). Google are trying to do an "iTunes", with Microsoft and Sony staggering up to the starting gate now they have found a tattered copy of a clue.

      I'm having problems downloading a track to my phone - I can do it to a desktop twice, or get unlimited downloads merely for putting a player in Chrome that has full access to all my media libraries….

        Just checked and I think the $6 ended in July. I do have two other offers, 90 days of music and 1 month of movies. Thanks for the tip to check though!

    I think you need credit card details to get the free songs, as you go thru a "buy" process, even though the cost is $0.00
    The moment it is going to cost you something, I suspect you will have to sign in again to confirm the cost. Also Daria Musk has an additional free live song.

    what's the difference between 'listen' and 'free' in google music? i can download the 'free' ones but can't seem to with 'listen' tracks.

      'listen' means you have already bought it.
