    Interesting, my eeepc has 12V dc input, I don't think this universal adapter will work with that laptop.

        No, but at a minimum of 15V output it could well damage my laptop.

    not bad, though DealExtreme have a few for around US$20~30 (AU$23~35?) including ones with 12V output - also free shipping. Probably just as good if not better than this one - it's a Ritmo afterall

    Just be aware that the way the voltage switching works is by the power plug you use. In other words, you choose the plug that fits your particular laptop model, plug it in to the connector at the end of the cord, and the voltage switches to the correct level. I know it is done by the the connector plug and not via auto detection of any kind because the change of voltage occurs without being plugged into the laptop.

    I have one of these adapters, bought from Jaycar with a different brand name, but obviously the same manufacturer, and that's how it works.

    So, don't assume that you can use it for ANY laptop. It has to be a compatible model. The list is extensive, but for Macs and EeePCs (which I have one of), they are definitely NOT compatible.

    Having said that, I can still recommend this universal adapter as it does support a lot of models and is very light and doesn't get that hot in use. The voltage has been rock steady and I've used it on a number of older laptops where I haven't been able to find the original power supply.

    MSY have always has this product for $39. Not a bargain for me. But for people who are not close to MSY, prob a good deal.

      Just don't vote positive if you don't think it's bargain material, there's nothing actually bad about this deal I thought, plus W1 has just price beaten for pickup (I'm assuming he was serious) so at least he is proactive in getting users here a good deal.
