Instead of your PS3 sitting on the desk gathering dust, but you have it in a displace case and let the case gather the dust. On second thought, better to sell off the PS3 if you are not playing it much now :P

I think it's the clear case we can see in retail outlets. Console goes into it.

I keep getting 404. If they are the display stands/cases they have in the stores to lock away PS3's, I want one!
all i did was view the link i provided, add to cart and checkout. it worked for me.
Yeah, I clicked on it to see if they had description or pictures. I ordered 3 (I've got 3 PS3's!) from the Garden City store, we'll see what happens

How do you quickly get your disc in and out?
You probably can't because it was not meant to be used for easy access to the console let alone the disc slot. The retail case is designed to keep people away from touching the console.
I duck down to DSE, they told me that even if its on website they probably aren't allowed to sell them as they're display use only
Yes hence the not for sale display use only wording. People have been ordering what was not even meant to be listed on the DS web site and it's not allowed to be sold.

Perspex case I expect. Good for displaying random stuff maybe?
Don't put your consoles in them unless you want them to overheat and die.
And also don't put it in them if you want the console to be easily accessed.

Just got a call from dick smith, they are cancelling all orders and offering refunds. They are not for sale.

What did they tell you when they called?.
They said it was an error and dont know why these display cases have been listed for sale online, they are not for sale and she was going to have to make a lot of phone calls correcting the sales. lol
Yes ok what i've been saying is correct it wasn't meant to be listed on the DS web site and it's a mistake not allowed to be sold. Some one running the DS web site stuffed up.

@hollykryten: Yeah right. Its a mistake that someone made a listing for a product and gave it a price. I never knew DSE have Cyberdyne systems running the show. Cant wait till they become self aware.
Tell them whoever they've hired recently to update the website is obviously not a bright person, listing these and 1c Forza 5 tokens and other stuff that doesn't belong :)

I got a call from Dick Smith saying they don't have it in stock or at any near by stores. They also said in order for me to get a refund I have to go in store or do it online? Wtf? I'm not going to their store and how do you do it online?

But yeh, this one is most likely a mistake given the calls from DSE. Theyll prolly end up in the rubbish anyway when staff decides to do something about them.

Why would you even buy it?. It's not like you'd use it for a PS3 since it would over heat it being inside of a plastic case with no ventilation.

Sorry. The Dick Smith staff must have been an total idiot to supply a PS4 cardboard box as a retail display case.
And it's kind of silly for you accepting it. A cardboard box is not what you ordered so why would you have accepted it?. You did not order a cardboard box you ordered one of those plastic perspex console display cases. Basically you just wasted 37c on a cardboard box that they throw out in the recycling. It's worthless.

Yep…I purchased at the Dick Smith store about 2 mins after this post went up (thinking it was a Perspex case for my PS3 console). When I went to pick it up from the store, they asked me what colour I would like the case. They gave me a DVD case!! Doh!! O-Well. Soooooo many success stories from OzBargain. This is my first burn. Not so bad :) The ladies behind the counter thought it was quite funny when my order came through. We had a good laugh

Sounds like people getting odd items. Some one getting a cardboard box and now you a DVD case. You ordered a perspex display case not a DVD case.

Yep sounds like a lot of staff don't even know what a PS3 retail display case even really is but handing over whatever they mistakenly think one is. Shoes some staff are total tools.

Got an email confirmation after I paid "Thank you for shopping with dicksmith.co.nz."
I selected click and collect but the web page didn't ask me which store. Looks like I have to go to nz to pick up or I'll loose my 37c
I bought a TV a couple of days back and I also got "Thank you for shopping with dicksmith.co.nz." It had me concerned until I got my delivery. Then I realised it's just the usual shambolics from DSE.
